- At one point, WWE wanted to do Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. No word yet if that match is still on the books but we should know after next week when Big Show is back on RAW.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
He's back facing the same guys 11 years later? LOL.

I guess, but what else could you do with him right now? There's no point in him being in the Rumble because it sounds like he's already got a title shot. You might as well have him squash and destroy somebody like the Big Show and build him up a bit. No use in having Big E, Reigns, or somebody like that losing to Brock right now.

Six months after leaving the WWE, former wrestler/announcer Matt Striker has resurfaced ... as a ROMULAN COMMANDER -- as in, the guy got himself a role in the new "Star Trek" project.

TMZ Sports has learned ... ever since he parted ways with the WWE back in June, Striker's been pursuing a career as an actor -- and recently auditioned for a part in the upcoming TV movie, "Star Trek Equinox: The Night of Time."

We spoke with Matt ... who tells us 13 years of pro-wrestling was great practice, saying "I did some acting as a child, movies like 'Wise Guys' etc. but really my time with the WWE has prepared me greatly for this next stage of my life."

Veteran actor John Savage -- who's starring in the flick -- says Striker was "handpicked" for the part ... telling us "when Matt was presented for audition, we thought we had our guy -- after he read, we knew it."

Savage says Striker's work in the ring was definitely a factor when it came to casting him for the role.

Must not have seen him getting his ass kicked by Kane ...

STEVE AUSTIN-WRESTLEMANIA XXX UPDATE

By Mike Johnson on 2013-12-31 13:47:20

On the heels of what Dave Scherer wrote about The Rock and Wrestlemania 30, we've received a lot of questions about whether Steve Austin will be working the show.

The word we are getting is that if Austin is there, it won't be as an active pro wrestler. Austin has talked privately about the idea of working CM Punk in the past, but Punk is currently slated to wrestle Triple H at the show.

The word within the company is that Austin has not been receptive to the idea of working a match this year, which given his age, may completely close the window on Austin ever having another match.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson teaming with Warner Bros. on a presumed DC Comics film?

Of course 2015’s Superman/Batman Man of Steel sequel is the only current DC theatrical feature set to film in 2014, and Johnson could certainly fit the bill as any number of Justice League characters or supervillains. Martian Manhunter and Doomsday immediately come to mind, and while it'd be somewhat against type, he's already got the head for Lex Luthor.

Of course many DC fans routinely cast The Rock as their dream Black Adam and even Captain Marvel himself in a Shazam film, but recent news pegs that as an unlikely 2014 start-up .

Of course the entire DC Universe is up for grabs if Johnson is referring to a new film that would start development in the new year.

So… who's got a guess?

- In case you missed it in the video earlier, Triple H may have teased the main event for the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February. When talking about the chase for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, he mentioned 6 Superstars being at the top - Batista, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.

:lupe: would probably be the GOAT chamber match

They could do that, and still have a respetable undercard too, with Bray Wyatt, the Shield, Goldust/Cody, Cesaro, the divas, and Big E to have in matches.
