Unfortunately, Trump radically transformed politics both within and outside of the USA. In 2015, the GOP was the party of Mitt Romney. That is to say boring, nondescript and soulless suits with religious and social conservative views who made sure to represent themselves in public like old money country club members. They were rigid and stale. Still just as twisted and heinous, but they comported themselves like America's nobility or something. In public, they behaved under specific and proper social expectations until they were behind closed doors.The entire point of MAGA is just white people (in particular heterosexual white Christians) shytting on everybody else.
Trump turned the GOP into the unofficial party of online trolls. MAGA is definitely a deranged and loud cult full of fanatics. Elected officials no longer gesture at liberty or freedom and openly celebrate destroying other's liberty for the sake of reactionary and authoritarian fascist control. They operate on pure id. Not ID as in identity, but id as in the psychological concept. The entire republican party has abandoned ever even talking about policies in a framing of helping Americans as a whole. The only policies they mention now are ones meant to hurt their political opponents or restrict the rights of groups that the MAGA base wants to see trodden upon. They operate on pure hatred and spite. They have the same attitude as bullies and mean kids.
There are two aspects to the republican party now - sycophantic devotion to Trump and Trumpism in a way that makes me wonder if the party will even continue to exist after he dies, and pointing at some group of people doing something and saying it needs to be stopped. Keep In mind that most of the diehard trump supporters weren’t interested in politics before trump came on the political scene in 2016. These people didn’t care about the GOP in the days of Romney, McCain, bush, dole etc.
They don't even talk about like... business development initiatives or trade deals or even geopolitical strategy anymore. They don’t even pretend to discuss policy and come with new revolutionary ideas to improve the country for the best. It is all down to "Trump good, women, immigrants and minorities bad." I guess I should add, every single sentence they speak is now an open lie. They know it is all a lie, and they also know there will be no accountability so they are absolutely brazen and we just have to accept that now.

I find it funny.....none of these Trump supporters want to sign up in the Army in large numbers, nor do they want to go to war against non white countries.

Because it’s an easy win for them and their opposition is weak. The Dems inability to win large fights has them getting wiped out in the smaller fights.
I don’t support it, but we need to pick our battles. Dems need a comprehensive plan to fight back that involves the largest swath of people possible. And they need some wins.
