These sound like DRL projects
SMH, boasting about cutting million dollar projects on a trillion dollar budget.
We have to deal with political realities.
Someone saying we need to stop sending money over seas compared to another saying we have to keep sending it will win an election 9 times out of 10 in this climate.
I support foreign aid but democrats should not be out here defending it. Once dems get back into power some of the programs can be reinstated.
It's simple maths. Cutting projects that represent at most 1/100,000 of the US budget is doing nothing but grandstanding.
This is not worth it for the US in terms of soft power because sending a couple of millions a year of aid to get in good graces of a country that you can then sell your products to, pays itself at the end.
And even if you don't sell to them at least it grants you either leverage or good will to advance your agenda.
That's the messaging the Dems have to focus on and then show how to REALLY cut waste by targeting wasteful parts of the budget that are meaningful.
