I'm not a fan of Trump cutting the aid to these developing countries but politically it will be very hard for dems to argue for reinstatement considering the national debt and people struggling to make ends meet.
The US is dismantling soft power capital build over decades of providing aid.

The US needs allies and its soft power.

Time and time again we see that American workers and busniesses are the primary benefactors of these programs.

We have to deal with political realities.
Someone saying we need to stop sending money over seas compared to another saying we have to keep sending it will win an election 9 times out of 10 in this climate.

I support foreign aid but democrats should not be out here defending it. Once dems get back into power some of the programs can be reinstated.
