Facts, I thought S1's finale was mad underwhelming. This season has the potential to actually end on a higher note with no wack ass Errol Childress.

The thing is True Detective isn't really about the villain. It's about the detectives and their personal journey trying to solve the case. Yall think Errol was a bad villain but he wasn't the only guy, what about Reggie and the preacher. It's a bigger conspiracy than just one guy. Season 1 finale was about how far Rust and Marty would go to get the "spaghetti monster". And Rust even said it's not over with just him, they still had guys out there who were in that video.

I know that. True Detective is a character study. All of the seasons have been about the detectives' lives being destroyed by the case.

That's the main thing you lose with this trend of binge watching shows now. Young people today would never understand what it was like to watch X-Files week to week and read the most insane theories on the Usenet newsgroups about shapeshifters and conspiracies. That was much better than the show itself once the show fell off.

I initially thought she would be Julie but the age wouldn't match and that would be corny as fukk.

I would like them to move away from the kiddie stuff next season though. I feel like we're gonna get some cannibal shyt next season.

Let's put it like this.

I'm not saying season 3 is as good as season 1....but if season 2 didn't exist, and this came directly after season 1....you'd say they didn't miss a beat. It's that good.

Nic references a lot of real life crime stories and is influenced by crime novelists so he be putting some crazy shyt out there. I think season 2 was such a misstep only because they rushed it out there..

I watched the first 3 eps..... but then wasn’t able to watch the last 4 weeks or so. Just finished binging up to the latest and WOW!

This shyt has been great.

Can’t wait to see how it all wraps up next week. Wished we got more eps but it’s all good
