Let's put it like this.

I'm not saying season 3 is as good as season 1....but if season 2 didn't exist, and this came directly after season 1....you'd say they didn't miss a beat. It's that good.

Fred.
I agree, this has a chance of being better than season one.

All depends on how this all pays off in the last episode.

Is it confirmed that this reporter is filming live? I'm starting to wonder if she might be working with Hoyt and trying to probe this nicca to see if he's still keeping his story straight after all these years. I initially thought she would be Julie but the age wouldn't match and that would be corny as fukk.

I would like them to move away from the kiddie stuff next season though. I feel like we're gonna get some cannibal shyt next season.

Also everybody getting an emmy for this shyt. Dorf better get one....Ali too. Is Cinematography a category? Give one to the director. Jesus the atmosphere is crazy the last two episodes. That scene where everything turned to black for old haze terrified me. Alzheimer's is one of my greatest fears and I'm not even 30 yet.

My brother wait until you hit 50. You may have so many things to worry about by then that Alzheimer's would look like a relief.

I trust Ali if he says the finale is :ohlawd: then I'm gonna believe it...

I don't have any wild theories. Episode 7 was great and I noticed the cinematography got back to the first couple episodes. There was a slight dip in quality in the middle of the season it showed that Nic isn't a great director but Sackheim has been good and he's directing the finale.

My one little theory is that I don't believe this is going to end up tying into what happened in Louisiana with Marty and Rust. I think the Hoyts are aware of the pedo cult but not outright involved. I think maybe they made it look like it was a pedo cult to steer the investigation that way.

Season 1 is better overall and a big part of it is because of the location. The swamps, plantations and backwoods of Louisiana was a crazy setting :wow: and a character by itself. Arkansas is cool but it's kinda boring imo.

The pay off for season one wasn't as good as it could have been IMO which is why season 3 can best it if it knocks it out the park in this last episode.

I agree with you though the locations in season one were better for sure.

People don't like the finale but where Season 3 fell off (midseason), Season 1 built up the momentum. Which is maybe why the finale wasn't good to some people :ehh: This season, I think episode 3,4 and 5 were just so-so. The first 2 episodes and the last 2 so far have been 10/10.

Have to stick the landing. I liked the finale of Season 1, well enough. What I didn't like was the reveal of the killer. Season 3 has handled that much better, I think.

I wonder what's in that Pink Room? Hope Pizzolatto doesn't pull a "Pulp Fiction" with the Marsellus Wallace briefcase in this. Have to show what's there...and it needs to be impactful.

Getting old aint for the weak. Thats why I believe in the nobility of suicide. It scares me to live long enough where I just start to fall apart:to:

Facts, I thought S1's finale was mad underwhelming. This season has the potential to actually end on a higher note with no wack ass Errol Childress.

All the built up Lovecraftian dread to reveal........this?
