People complaining about this season moving slow is to me. You can tell off rip who binged the first season.

then you list the same reasons as everyone else

My problem is how two episodes in a row only the last 60 seconds of the episode has got me genuinely into the plot. Oh, and last ep finding out that Vaughn's character was basically broke now got me invested some, too. But thus far, it's mostly been a character piece with really over the top characters and all the mystery is about what happened to them to make them the way they are and I just don't give a shyt.

Every time the show hits pause to focus on their issues is really boring for me. The opening scenes in this second ep with the flashbacks showing how all their respective forces were instructing them to spy on the others was dope, but I really don't hope every episode doesn't come with 20 minutes of their personal shyt.

This season is dope so far. Yall whining like crazy in here. Just WAIT a bit. We have 3 pretty complex and interesting characters and a psycho in a bird costume shooting dudes in the dikk...shyt is holding my interest pretty easily

Anyone else get a bit when Bezzerides was watching the porn?

Vince Vaughn is passable but still feels mad out of place tho

Skipping proper rising action in favor of heading straight into heavy character work isn't "slow", it's the opposite. They're giving the characters no time to breathe. These two episodes have been character development concentrate.

Might want to work on your reading comprehension though fam

Season 1 is so great because of the stellar performances put on by Woody and Matt. I don't think anybody saw that coming, not even when it was released they'd be the main characters, but they both put on one hell of a performance. Without them at their best, or with other actors in their place, our opinions on that season could possibly be quite different.

So far Colin has been putting on a decent performance, the other two have been aight, Rachel really hasn't gotten a moment to shine as of yet IMO, but regardless, yea we aren't going to get performances like we did in the first season, however that doesn't make this season bad because of it. Hell its just been two episodes. Last season didn't really take off until after ep 3 for me and ep 4 for most other folks.

I liked the second episode better than the first but some of this dialogue is

Pizzolatto needs someone to edit his scripts, because the lines range from great to pretty awful.

I really want to like this, but I can't get into this at all so far. Will give it a couple more episodes.

I am not one of those comparing it to the first season. This is a completely different story with a different set of actors. Only thing the same is the title of the show.

This season so far is better than everything after Episode 4 of Season 1 (aka amazing tracking shot episode). Farrell is . McAdams is . Vaughn is . Kitsch ain't on his Tim Riggins shyt, but he's doing okay.

I don't take issue with most of the criticisms of this season so far... but I do think they are overblown and it's troubling to see shows with far inferior writing (Spartacus, SOA, Walking Dead, etc) receive a pass for their bullshyt on this same site.

To be fair nobody put those shows on the pedestal "TD" season 1 was on. People fully expected it to sweep award shows.
