People are criticizing VV and the other actors but imo they don't have much to work with so far. Maybe it'll open up later but its not happening right now. These two episodes are almost a paint by the numbers crime saga. Cops with major issues and vices, all their relationships with their lovers are going to sh*t, city politics- deal making troubles, etc. I mean seriously how many times does a female have to complain and say, "I can't do this anymore" on television? Also the cinematography isn't all there to me. Its same interiors and the rest is mostly freeway driving and aerial shots of the freeways. Its HBO, they have the budget.. Take a page from the flick 'Nightcrawler' and show the damn city. If their going to keep with the long winded philosophical rants get them out of the car and have them walk along the beach or something. Mix that sh*t up

yeah Justin lin ain't really bringing it, other than the scenes with shadows (ie like the one before farrel enters the house) I ain't really impressed. I got halfway through the 1st season when I had to stop watching cause of time, should I finish the 1st season and watch this season when it's done?

I'm in school and don't have time to watch multiple TV shows online. I literally only have the weekends when August hits and I ain't got time in July to watch anything

I don't think he's a red herring. Casper's psychologist mentioned him by name, and HE's definitely involved. He's got a crow-man on his wall.
The cult of Antigone's dad looks like the kind of place where girls would go after they run away from home to get 'healed' or 'start over' in life. He brainwashes them and then, to completely 'unmake' the person they once were, bring them in touch with the psych where they'll get cosmetic surgery. Robbed of their identities and their life, they are then dropped into the occult underground sex circuit as prostitutes, which is where Caspere (frequent customer/possible middle man) and Birdbreh (ringleader/enforcer) come in. The missing girl from Ani and her partner's case is likely one of the victims.

I knew from the gate not to compare it to season 1. For one you got some great actors in the first with Matthew and Woody. Plus it was said that the plots and characters were going to be different each season. I'm not so sure about the plot part though. I mean it's focused on some type of sexual deviance just like in the first one. Would kind of suck if Colin Farrell is really dead though.

I was thinking the same thing. I already dropped expectations with Vince Vaughn being a main character. I don't think hes a good actor, never have. The rest of the characters are meh. First season started off kind of slow, but the dialogue was good. Just gotta wait and see.Yeah, I'm really hoping Collin isn't done for. He's been the best actor so far, this shyt might end up being real dry without him

Well, what do we know. We know Casper was involved in some weird shyt. We know girls are missing. We know there's at least one dude running around in a mask, maybe more. Sounds like some possible underground secret society sex ring shyt which may or may not be related to season one though it'd be dope if it was. Casper flew too close to the sun. The city is under investigation and with that some heads are gonna roll, Casper was the first because I'm guessing if the state police arrived at his home first they would have uncovered some crazy shyt that could be pinned on very important people.
See.. I don't think the plot is an issue at all. Two episodes in and I'm liking where it's headed. The last 10 minutes sold me on the plot.
The writing, however, needs to be cleaned up a bit. Nick is trying to be TOO slick with it which would work fine for a grade A actor but Vince Vaughn is not that. He's okay. He's doing well but honestly I think the role of detective would have suited him much more than midlevel crime boss. Colin Farrell and Rachel McAddams are killing their roles tho. They'll be fine.
Paul is the worst character so far and not because of Taylor's performance. He's been okay too. It's just that now we are being beat over the head with the gay shyt. They've been very subtle about Black Mountain and I'm interested in that but the faq story, the Viagra, the male prostitutes... nah...
Also, Rachel's dad. I think he's a red herring. Maybe he's a real a$$hole but I don't think he's involved in the missing girl or Casper's death. I think he's just a loon.
That's what I've been thinking. The state govt about to drop the hammer, and crow group don't want shyt getting out. Vince is gonna be just assed out of his money. Basically a case of wrong time&place. hell thinking about...
dude will probably end up stepping on the crow groups toes and get himself killed. Since he is doing detective work of his own.
Also with the way the mayor was being cagey with the answering in ep 2.. dude probably knows something.
This show has one more episode to show me something before I drop it from the DVR. Killing the most interesting character in the 2nd episode wasn't the business at all.
