Dude go ahead and "neg" me until your fingers fall off...I couldn't give a rat's asss...

I watched a trailer that was posted, and it was being narrated by a female voice, and I assumed that female voice will be a MAJOR character in the story...If my assumption is right, then I further assume there will be some kind of "love triangle"...This is so typical Hollywood...

These are just assumptions I have made watching the trailer...

I will watch the entire series after the season is over, and make up my mind then...

Why does this reasoning offend you so much...? All I am saying is that I don't like shows/movies with "love stories" unless they are so well written that the love angle is just a mistake that can be ignored...

Yeah, the show is narrated by a female character who I think is going to be important in the future. As for love triangle, there seems to be one forming with Woody Harrelson's character. Show is not for you, breh.

Didn't want this episode to end. Harrelson and McConaughey's interactions were hilarious. That conversation in the car had me dying. They really took it back to beepers. I hope that I get over Woody having that dip or whatever it is in his mouth when he talks. The deer/ antler reminded me of Hannibal but all comparisons stopped there. I'm not judge but I thought there was some great acting my McConaughey in this. I hope the dialogue continues because that was my favorite part of the show. Oh yeah, he slapped the shyt out of that other cop and the preacher looks like a White Madea. Do y'all really think the pitcher is involved?

Anybody else think the taxman is the serial killer or a copycat?

It was obvious the new detectives working the case think he has something to do with it
If anything, I'm kind of looking In Martin's direction of being a possible suspect. Maybe Rust found out something which led to their falling out.

When dude found the little stick thing that's the only thing that made me think it might be him

I don't think he was planting evidence(trying to frame someone) because they don't even have a suspect yet

If he did plant it then he's the killer IMO

Yeah, let me clarify that I was speculating toward what the two detectives are interviewing the guys for...not so much what actually happened. They THINK he planted evidence, but the reality would be something more along the lines of the tax man taking the evidence he finds and forcing it to fit into the image of whoever it is they originally caught only to realize later on that he was wrong when it's too late (could even become the reason he and Woody have a falling out).

Mind yall, this is major speculation...we're only one episode in and I'm just toying with possibilities that are outside the obvious "tax man is the killer" ish. I think the writers will try to convince us that the clues point to him when the reality is the dude just over committed to one concept. I'm really interested to know what "the right questions" are for those dudes to be asking.

pilot had me :whoo:. was fully zoned in from the start.

Think Woody is having an affair with that woman who came to give him something.

Wonder if the show will concentrate on the 1995 or 2012 timeline.

Both timelines are happening at the same time, 1995 is through flashbacks. Also they mention records being lost during Hurricane Rita, so 2005 is in the mix.

I enjoyed the premiere, good chemistry between the two lead detectives and the flashback setup worked for me. Will be sticking with it.

I'll suscribe to the the "Rust is the copycat killer" theory. He seems like the kind of guy who would be consumed by his work and once it is over loose purpose and try to act that out to find some sense of enjoyment or something.

HBO has a hit on their hands.
great episode.
Dont see rust as the killer......too easy.
rust is a tortured soul and the only person
that can dive that deep into the mind of
a serial killer.........yeah he makes others
in his field uneasy but they need him if they want to catch the killer.
it would be too much like hannibal if they went that route.
