Watched the ending again and maybe I've been on The Coli for too long but I laugh out loud when Rust was using the bushes to help him escape... all this time I thought the bushes was the place to throw broken dreams and condoms at but Rust used the bushes to help him escape and achieve his goal.

I think it might be the other way around. I just re-watched and the only they can avoid that iron crusaders shyt being very lazy writing is if Marty is playing Rust. The killer they are hunting being the sole cook for a biker gang in a different state that Rust used to have under cover dealings with is way too convenient. I'm starting to wonder if Marty completely made up getting the tip from the stripper's boyfriend in order to send Rust down that path.

Could be lazy writing, but wouldn't be too far fetched to assume Rust has some done some undercover work for more than group or at the very least know someone in one of the more prominent gangs.

i thought the premiere was shaky but damn if it didnt become the best show currently airing right now with the last 3 eps

Yeah, I'm not even convinced of my theory. Just something that jumped out at me on second viewing

1. It's a pretty big coincidence (bordering on unbelievable)
2. The lead came from Marty 100%
3. We've established that narrators are unreliable

If they wanted to just phone it in and be lazy about it why couldn't Marty and Rust have got the tip together? Why did the writers make Marty go it alone and then feed the info to Rust?

I have to agree with the brehs here who said the last 6 minutes was . In the middle of it, my heart was pounding for real.

Now I know the last scene got everyone's attention, but I love the subtle shyt, like when Marty is reading the letter from his wife, you don't know what is written, but you can see his face changing as he reads it. The guy who plays the exhusband of the woman who got killed is great too. at Matthew saying "you aint going to get an Oscar for that performance".

Can someone explain the helicopter though? That part I didn't really understand, it looked like it was following Rusty and crews car. Was it just patrolling the area?

I've mainly only known Matt for chainsaw massacre and all those wack chick flicks but got damn at his catalog especially his recent run...I don't know who his agent is but dude should be commended for getting Matt to do more serious roles....His psychopath portrayals are simply jaw dropping...

dont think so...if he wanted to jam rust up, he wouldnt have covered for him with the dad/leave of absence story...and he wouldnt still have rust back the way he's had it so far...

He had to cover Rust on that story it was off the books. He would be in just as much trouble with that deal gone wrong . Multiple bodies got dropped there. He is kind of leading the cops in Rust direction . They were partners for 7 more years after this went down . I think Rust did something and set of Martin during that period and since he had no younger girl for release and stable family life he went off the grid and crazy, Rust with that speech at the church about guys looking at God as a way to not go crazy . I think years later Martin losses faith in God and goes wild. Remember he gave that underage girl some money and Rust says was that a down payment? Rust knows Martin will go there.
