His versatility is staggering breh...

I've mainly only known Matt for chainsaw massacre and all those wack chick flicks but got damn at his catalog especially his recent run...I don't know who his agent is but dude should be commended for getting Matt to do more serious roles....His psychopath portrayals are simply jaw dropping...

I can't front man I used to hate on him a little bit. He's been killing it like no other. That new Nolan flick's teaser wasn't all that great but now I'm even more hyped about it knowing that MM has the lead role. Dude is a savage these days.

I got a theory. What if Mary flipped out one night and killed his jumpoff because she ruined his marriage. And Rust had to help him cover up the murder. And that's why the two had a falling out? We don't know what happened to his jumpoff in present day. She might be dead. :ohhh:

From an interview with the series writer/showrunner Nic Pizzolatto (someone probably already posted this):

I’ve enjoyed reading people theorize about what’s going to happen because it’s a sign that you’re connecting. But I’m also sort of surprised by how far afield they’re getting. Like, why do you think we’re tricking you? It’s because you’ve been abused as an audience for more than 20 years. The show’s not trying to outsmart you. And really if you pay attention… if someone watches the first episode and really listens, it tells you 85 percent of the story of the first six episodes.

That really doesn't sound like the show's going the wild shocking twist route.

Yeah, he says that but I still don't believe Rust is the killer. That was be too easy.

Yeah, I've kinda prepared to have this show have a "regular" ending.

I kind of hope that it does. The show doesn't have to be wild, action-packed, and outrageous to me. I like it for the character depth, acting, cinematography and dialogue between characters, and if the ending meets any of those qualities than it would be okay with me.

Yeah, I don't mind it at all, it doesn't need it. As great as this season has been, I'm already :noah: about next season.

New case, new actors, the show will have an entirely different feel, but as long as the core is intact, the show will be :wow:

For sure. The acting is fantastic but the magic comes from the writer and the director also. The writing and the cinematography are some of the best I've ever seen on television. Obviously Nic is coming back but let's see what director will take the helm and what actors will be signed.

What kind of monster would murder a dime like that? :noah:

He had to cover Rust on that story it was off the books. He would be in just as much trouble with that deal gone wrong . Multiple bodies got dropped there. He is kind of leading the cops in Rust direction . They were partners for 7 more years after this went down . I think Rust did something and set of Martin during that period and since he had no younger girl for release and stable family life he went off the grid and crazy, Rust with that speech at the church about guys looking at God as a way to not go crazy . I think years later Martin losses faith in God and goes wild. Remember he gave that underage girl some money and Rust says was that a down payment? Rust knows Martin will go there.

I disagree...yea, they were partners for 7 and haven't talked in 10, but marty still holds rust in high regard...if he was trying to jam him up, he wouldn't hold him in as high regard as he does....plus the fact that rust tried to help get maggie back for marty is gonna go along way with marty, rust had his back when he didnt have to....also, it seems like the reason they stopped talking isn't cause of marty, but cause of rust...also, true, we know marty doesn't have a fam or young thang right now, but we dont know how long that lasts....the down payment line was a joke, you looking too much into that....

aight, after reading what he said about the show's not trying to trick you and what not, i think there are 2 killers....i think reggie was the original killer for dora, but i think someone else did the 2012 murder...and as much as it pains me to say this, i think rust or marty did it...the way he describes the reason for the murder, what it means, etc., i think one of them finally loses it....if anything, my money's on marty...he probably did it just so he could get the chance to talk to rust again...he probably wants rust to be the one to solve the new murder, like it'll give him happiness...
