I read somewhere that when they show Marty's name in a report that it's in all caps HART, and someone else said that when someone is a suspect they put the name in all caps to distinguish from anyone else (family) whose name might appear in a report.

tho they might also think he's an accomplice since he worked with Rust on that case.

yo that whole scene when rusty was telling marty what was about to go down was good because of the weird energy rusty was giving off..."keep that motherfukker on and close man" he was getting into character because he didn't even know how that shyt was gonna go down

he was high as hell. he was out there in the streets for weeks snortin, smokin, and injectin all types of shyt trying to get the attention of the bikers so he could have that sit down with ginger....

Again, because Rust doesn't believe in the fake, he's able to play the game 2 steps ahead of everyone else. We all know, we all see that Marty's wife would give it up to Rust. Rust understand this too. She's an emotionally scarred woman. She wants…she needs someone to confide in. If Rust keeps playing this middle man role, its going to get real uncomfortable. Marty's wife is going to fall in love with the time they spend. She'll start looking forward to their talks. And once that happens, its ovaaaaaaaa

I agree 100% but I just don't think Rust would fukk her. I don't think he's a sexual being at this point in his life (1995), but maybe I'm wrong. He probably could've bagged that other girl when they went out dancing, but he didn't even look at her. She was all curious about whether "things that feel good feel twice as good" and he had her interested when he said he'd been to Paris, etc.

But yeah if he actually fukks her it'll be interesting. If he does, I don't think Marty knows about it in the present day, because he obviously falls hard for every woman in his life, and he seems to still hold Rust in high regard.

Fam dude knew he would have to pull some shyt to get back with iron crusaders, this dude been 3 steps ahead of everybody. dude said he knew projects, prolly mapped out mad contigency plans for when shyt hit the fan ... didn't Rust mention Mogadishu.?? when did that black hawk down shyt happen?

By the way, this is one of the only shows where I honestly don't want it to end. With 10 mins left I looked at the time like

Also that scene was darkly hilarious, with Marty coming downstairs and fixing a cup of coffee, while Rust is drinking whiskey straight and looking into whatever that thing is, at like 7:00 AM….And Marty's line to the dude is prison, "Gotta be tough, living with somebody spoutin’ insane shyt in your ear all day long"….Michael Mann had to be an influence on that final shootout, it's frenetic, frenzied, claustrophobic tension…..When Rust is trying to keep the whole thing from spiraling out of any semblance of control that may have existed, 'don't fire', don't fire'….I'm also dead at all the commentary here regarding the haphazard, idiotic planning of the Crusaders, the thing is though shyt happens like that ALL the time, maybe not running gunfights in what looks like Juarez slums, but violent, gruesome brutal crimes related to drug trafficking and the lure of fast money, fueled by adrenaline and schedule II substances.

Rust knew Marty would check in on him at the bar and thus connect the dots and drive to beaumont 10 miles away. How else would be so precise with the directions and timing "i need to meet me at emlia street between 18th and 19th in 90 seconds" if he thought Marty was stuck at the bar. And thats the funny part, Rust has Marty and most people supremely figured out man, its crazy how cerebral dude is.

I think it might be the other way around. I just re-watched and the only they can avoid that iron crusaders shyt being very lazy writing is if Marty is playing Rust. The killer they are hunting being the sole cook for a biker gang in a different state that Rust used to have under cover dealings with is way too convenient. I'm starting to wonder if Marty completely made up getting the tip from the stripper's boyfriend in order to send Rust down that path.

lol everyone keeps thinking I'm saying Rust is gonna fukk her. Nah I'm saying Marty's wife is gonna fall in love with Rust. Rust sees this and understands that woman love to cheat emotionally. That's why he keeps his distance from her and doesn't like to invade in Marty's personal life. He don't want that. Through and through Rust is all about honor.

Nah….dude worked UC in the border areas for four years, and was reg narcotics before that, you could probably throw a rock in that direction and be in contact with a distribution group, gang, sub cell, that he had experience with, personal or otherwise. Plus, Louisiana borders the Gulf of Mexico and Texas, most of the drug crews and gangs, various criminal elements will be right in his area of expertise and knowledge.

I agree with you about the unreliable narrators. Also, I'm not really sure why Marty would do all this either. That said, he is the one who fed the iron crusaders thing to Rust and that shyt is a coincidence that is a little too big for the world that's been established.
