Interesting to read that interview where they say they used a single take for the tracking shot, because I noticed some of the editing points they set up (like when they ran through the white sheets on the washing line) so I was sure they just edited it together. Regardless, it's an incredible feat they pulled off on a television budget.

And to think that up until that scene I thought there was no way we were going to best the scene where they had KRS playing in a strip club.

Also, you know how GOAT that tracking shot was when people completely forget about Marty yelling "I WILL SKULL fukk YOU!" at ol' girl through the phone. shyt had me dying.

giancarlo has been one of my favorite actors since he played mike ghirardello on homicide, im with that. never even realized i became a fan of him as a homicide detective too i dont really have a problem with the actors from the wire or boardwalk empire, i love those shows. but it would be too much of an hbo circle jerk instead of two known actors going hard as murder police. it's some fanboy shyt

I don't think they need to worry about easy to hire. 5 month commitment and this level of writing is going to be appealing to almost all actors. They could fukk around and do deniro and pacino if they wanted ( please don't do this)

I thought 3rd was with the audience and 4th was between character and author….my bad….unless you did something I didn't see there

i thought 3rd was only for comics/reading materials since there's only two dimensions on a strip and the third is with the reader whereas in film/plays there's already three walls/dimensions and the fourth is when you're addressing the watcher/audience

HBO could get A list actors for next season of True Detective. You better believe all the actors are watching McConaughey and Woody and are like why the fukk didn't my agent get me this gig.

No lie, I could see Tom Hanks and Denzel doing this for 3 million each for 3 months work. Seriously. I bet HBO goes big with the actors for season 2. And remember Tom Hanks has a producing deal with HBO, he's already in the family.

they are great talents but they are TV talents. the magic of this show is we got movie actors in it. thats part of why its an anthology, to attract those names. we can see those people you named in other tv shows

The killer in 2012 is Martin . All clues point to that. He story to the cops is a beautiful set up job to point the cops in Rust direction .
