My nikka, I don't even want to quote that post, because it is not worthy of me quoting it.

A disappointing finale to a somewhat mixed first season.

Im actually kinda relieved that the first season is over and done with and we can finally move on to a new plot.

A plot which is far removed from the philosophical, nihilistic gibberish that made your head hurt in the first.

The second season is definitely going to be almost the exact opposite of the first season, which hopefully means it will be a bit more action packed.

I think it would be kinda cool for the 2nd season to be about a gang who is notorious for bank robberies and the race against time to stop them hitting the biggest bank. A bit like 'Heat'.

For the cast, it would be a good idea to have one rookie detective and another one taking his final case before retirement or some shyt.

For the veteran, someone like Bruce Willis, Sam Jackson or Michael Douglas would be a good cast. Not yet sure about who should the rookie be but I thought someone LaBeouf or Kitsch would be decent.

Nic Pizzolatto is a novelist first and foremost. So I doubt this will ever turn into "Heat" or any kind of action movie shyt. And he already gave a vague outline of season 2, it's about "the occult history of the U.S. transportation system", or something like that. So expect more dialogue driven scenes.

As far as the cast, I doubt HBO can afford half of those guys.

am I trippen? didnt the senator get blasted all over the news for being family related to the killer? Because Rust was in a coma and he told the sniper to send off the video evidence if he didnt hear from him in 24 hours (which he did send them off cause again, Rust was in a coma)

They also dug up dozens of bodies of missing people that we never heard of before..

How more sad do yall want the show to end ?

After they got the info from the captain off the boat, they go back to Marty's PI office and start examining the evidence. They have the pictures pinned on the wall, and Marty asks, "Why the green ears?"... then they look into the house and the paint job. I went back and watched it, and I know that they said the house pics were from the Dora Lang canvasing photo files, was that house just in the neighborhood? I'm a bit confused as to how that revelation was made that the guy they were after may have painted that house. That part went over my head.

yea, it was in the neighborhood...when they first got to that area, rust was standing in front and looking at the house...it's around the scene with the old man telling them about the lil girl going missing and wondering if it had to do with that...

I don't think Errol's dad was dead. Didn't he say "You'll keep for about another day..." he had been torturing him? Maybe I perceived that scene wrong.

His "GF" was his half-sister. which made things creepier.

What the fukk was up with him having a posh british accent and talking all proper out of no where?

that cat was dead..him talking about he'd keep for another day was him talking about the the body decaying....remember he said the flies were getting thick in there too....

It was kind of like you read a Cormac McCarthy novel, said the long paragraphs and descriptions were tedious, and suggested his next novel should be about a spy who trains to be a ninja and parachutes into a country harboring terrorists and proceeds to kick a lot of motherfukkers' asses and save the world in the process. You're essentially saying you'd like the fresh pineapple juice better if it was Pepsi.

on a completely different note, i am exiting this thread as the lets-be-cool-and-blantantly-hate bandwagon has come in full effect. ruining what was once a 200 plus page thread of good fun and debating, but now is just a troll fest of poking sticks at the fire simply bc u wanna get rises outta ppl. this thread has truly gone to shyt bc u guys care more about proving someone else is wrong than allowing us to bask in what was a tremendously entertaining show. the fact all of you still discuss it to this length, and watched all 8, i dont care what u post, u clearly enjoyed it. i dont watch whole seasons of a show i dont enjoy. call me crazy

A final thought: symbolism is the new corniest thing on television. It has become the most bankable smart-dumb nikka aspect of television shows, from Lost to the Sopranos to Breaking Bad to True Detective. It's a lazy shortcut to complexity, and hooks the audience like a cheap drug because it makes us feel unduly smart while cultivating a sense of mystery that never pays out.

Oh shyt, the prostitute's nipple ring was lavender... Just like the bar of soap in Bobby Lee's bathtub, and the wig the secret assassin was wearing!

Yoooooo! Tell me you noticed her tattoo was in the shape of a leprechaun boot... And Italy is the country shaped like a boot... And leprechauns are associated with Ireland... And they said the killer was half-Irish, half-Italian!!!!

How many people that dapped this post spent 200 pages breaking down the symbolism

I hope the second season pushes the envelope. As long as it keeps up with the standard of dialogue and interesting characters that we know it can provide.

Did he keep his father alive ??? Errol was on another level with his demonic activity here, he scarred him up and tortured him like he must had done to him. From what I'm guessing his father raped Errol and tortured him but Errol lived and thrived and his madness to another level after he grew up.

Were they supposed to go to Carcosa and find the Senator wearing a crown?

Finding what girl? They found some people in episode 5 or 6.

Nope. Reporter said that the state's attorney and FBI shot down rumors that he was related. The family was powerful as fukk and that tape wouldn't have proven that any of the Tuttles were involved.
