Used to get all my X-Men toys at KB, they closed up and Toys R was the spot, but then I grew up


and now there aren't any X-Men toys or a Toys R Us anymore

Again, Disney fire Kathleen Kennedy cause real talk,.

Star wars singlehandidly created the actual boom for toyr us, kb, child world etc. That Kennedy is a failure because now Disney has a larger return on merchandise for star wars.
Disney should be all over her failing to rejuvenate the economic boom of star wars and the entire star wars merchandising and economic sector.

Disney,....fire Kathleen Kennedy.

I’m legit sad. Ill sometimes walk down the wrestling action figure aisle in target/Walmart to this day almost instinctively because of toys r Us nostalgia

Growing up as a kid in the 80's and 90's is getting sad.

Damn, all the shyt I went to as a kid is closing down.

Change is always inevitable, but it still kind of sucks. I hope some of the individual stores get bought and are kept open. I think a few Radio Shacks are still open.

They closed ours down over a decade ago, but we still went over to Bloomington, Springfield, or Champaign, to get our fix in.

Just last month, we took our son there to reward him. Now, they're shutting all of them down

Liquidation sales are usually for suckers. First thing the liquidation company does is mark everything up above msrp then throw a 10-15% off sign on it. Old ass stuff that is on clearance at other places will actually be above market value on liquidation. By the time they reach the 50% number where you will actually get a deal usually all the suckers have bought the good stuff for above market value. I remember Circuit City having floor model outdated tv's listed for a higher price than what you would pay for a new set at Best Buy. Your best bet is if you want something obscure and very expensive that the average thrift shopper isn't interested in and I'm not sure TRU has anything like that on the floor.

I was curious and stepped into a babies r us last week just to check it out and they didn't even have diapers or wipes on sale. Guess they figured people would buy that stuff anyway.

People want experiences now not possessions. Kids included. It's not just that that they could cost cut and shave their margins to remain profitable.

What was the last toy that was a hot commodity that WASN'T a video game?

I'm sad to see it go, but that's just the lay of the land now.
