Another thing - I like Dushane's mum, but she's a shining example of these mothers who are delusional and keep their heads in the sand. It took
Donovan's murder
for you to realise your son isn't shyt? What about her other son who also got attacked and pemanently scarred because of him?

Did she think Dushane fled to Jamaica for 5 years in hiding cos he couldn't pay his gas bill? :gucci:

I wonder if Jermaine was the one who dropped the dime to the feds of where Modie would be. It was way too easy and coincidental that they found him where and when they did. Only Jermaine knew where he'd be, as he had to text him the address. Just the same, Jermaine had to have known what kind of fukkery Modie was on before he went away. And still he orchestrated his escape. Modie was definitely a liability. Not sure what his or Jermaine's endgame was. They were all better off rolling with Jamie anyway. But jealousy....
Jermaine's beef with Sully is unfinished business from the previous season. Jermaine mentioned it at their first meet up this season.

Rafe the dude with braids ? yea he was on some real gully shyt. No compassion or moral compass clouding things

Yeah from season 2, Jermaine's brother who had the shootout with Sully, who had kidnapped Jermaine. Dushane kept Rafe off of Sully, but sacrificed Sully's boy Mike to Rafe for it + £3000. The way Jermaine was running around in this season and not even mentioning him must mean that either Rafe is in jail or dead. Rafe would've been muscle if around. His name rang out in the streets, but even he backed down to Dushane.

Still crazy that Rafe, Jermaine and Sully are blood cousins.

Yeah Rafe was straight :demonic:

The way he casually walked up on Sully & Mike in season 2 and blew Mikes head off as they walked out the club, before hitting Sully with a “sup cuz” before casually walking off was :whoo:

There’s been enough Wire comparisons in here already, but it was pretty much this, just instead of a chick screaming it was Sully with the :dwillhuh:

Remind me, what happened to his brother again?

Power is built for the speed of instant fukkery gratification, not the distance of deep analysis, but agreed about everything else.
I think that’s the problem with Power too- it’s almost insult to basic intelligence to watch at this point bc it’s way to far fetched and skewed even for a tv show. They literally dumbed it down these past few seasons - I’ve seen straight to YouTube series that were more watchable. Straight up cringe.

This season of Top Boys was not as gritty as the first two but it kept the essence of the show intact, without compromising the integrity of the series. I have to give it up to the UK for this, this show was a problem..well done.

Dris

Dris was a fukkn rat since the start...this dude was passed out when dush went to rob the house i woulda cut that dude there...
He passed out in the car bc he was sick from not taking his meds, bc of the nerve problem in his arm. But agreed, whole time, he was a traitor. He let his bitterness and envy take over bc they were excluding him

That mother-son bond. I don’t think she wanted to give up on him-she was loving in her fantasy about him until something extreme went down. A good mother doesn’t like to face the fact that their son is a “bad seed” - that’s your own flesh and blood. I respect her for holding out hope for him but yeah, she was in denial and it was detrimental to her other son. It’s not like he was emotionally neglected. This show was different in that you had a mix of the good/bad parent households and how the pressure of the environment impacted them. You could do right by your kid and they still turn out to be ungrateful selfish spoiled pieces of shyt bc they lack a moral compass.

I know, I've seen this scenario many times over throughout my life.

The problem is, it strains the relationship between the mother and the good kids, because the good ones feel cheated while the bad breeds take all that love for granted knowing no matter what they do their mother will still be there. I've seen examples of that with my god brothers and what it can do to family relations.

I can't agree with this part. He was bitter when Sully & Dushane came back and demoted him, but he didn't take the anger and bitterness any further until Jermaine approached him outside his daughter's school. That was towards the end of the season, episode 9 or 10, if I'm correct.

Jamie and his crew was getting their info on Summerhouse crew from Leyton, who was getting it from pillow-talking with Jaq' sister.

This is facts! Trust. I know exactly what you mean. The kid that always causes the most problems, seems to get the most attention - it’s frustrating and infuriating. Definitely causes a lot of tension among the other siblings. Especially if the other kids are making the right decisions and being productive. Causes a lot of contempt and hostility. Dushane’s brother didn’t have a huge role this season but that was a powerful scene when he confronted him about how he felt - that was heavy

That beef is eternally on-sight for Jermaine to Sully, but I don't think Jermaine has the heart to go head-up with Sully. He always gotta have someone else do it. He's one of those dudes.

He never was in that roadman/murder game life to Sully, Dushane or even Rafe when they were doing. They won't take him serious. I think Sully won't go after him again either, since Rafe gave him that pass in season 2.

But if Jermaine comes at Sully on some unruly ish, I think Sully would lay him down and just have to deal with Rafe. Just would be part of the game.
