I can't agree with this part. He was bitter when Sully & Dushane came back and demoted him, but he didn't take the anger and bitterness any further until Jermaine approached him outside his daughter's school. That was towards the end of the season, episode 9 or 10, if I'm correct.

Jamie and his crew was getting their info on Summerhouse crew from Leyton, who was getting it from pillow-talking with Jaq' sister.

But I thought Dris already dropped the location to the opps when they came shooting up the apartment, which is how they knew where Sully and Dushane would be with the white lady connect. They came to Dris’ daughters school bc they knew he was the leak and were feeding him info to set him up and confirm how he was moving disloyal.

Maybe I have the timeline distorted. In that case, then you’re right.

no he gave up the hideout they were in after Jermaine approached him with the deal at the school. he decided to snake them after that because he asked to help them with the ride out to find the ZTs and they told him not to come. then he overheard sully and deshane laughing about his stroke, basically saying hes a liability

I think after how well season 3 has been received, season 4 will now have a bigger budget to be as in-depth as the wire. No, I don’t expect Top Boy to be as good but remember, the first two seasons had four episodes each.

I know a few writers who work for the creator (northern Irish guy I believe) on the first two seasons. They were essentially brought in to make the dialogue authentic.

Now that there’s a bigger budget, the police investigating Dushane have been introduced, we’ll definitely see an expanding world. I’m positive season 4 will exceed all expectations.

I binge watched that show so fast lol. I was halfway through the season before I knew it. Def worth a rewatch bc I know I missed some nuances.

No episodes of the Wire had the same drama or entertainment. Look it's a brilliant show too, but here's the thing. The Wire tries to do a million different things, and it does most of them very well. Top Boy only tries to do a couple of things and does both to absolute perfection.

I concede that The Wire has a much larger scope and is much more complex. But here's the thing, I don't care about that. You don't get extra points in my book just because you've got a million big ideas. You get points based on how well you execute your ideas, and for me Top Boy might only have a couple of ideas but it executes them better than The Wire executes any one of its million ideas. So my bottom line is simple: it is better to do two things with perfection than it is to do a million things with excellence.
