The one liners were trash, casting crap and action was typical.
I did smile at the dark setting and zombie mummies , brought a certain charm.
The hyde/Jekyll could have been smarter/better delivered.

What's the other films to come?

Interested to see how this performs this weekend. Everything I'm reading sounds like the fans really wanted fraiser to reprise. I didn't like the third one but I liked the guy too.

It did 174 million WW opening weekend.

It's got like 5 more market yet to open in.

Considering how bad word of mouth is on this I'm not sure how the legs will be.

It's gonna probably finish between 300-400 million.

No the point is, you spend so much time planning for the bigger picture you don't focus on making your one picture contained and as dope as it should be and one story. Thats what I mean and what I think people miss about trying to copy what's been done. They put the cart before the horse while not making sure the horse is in fine shape and can carry you.
where have i heard this before and argued heavily against :patrice:

i just cant put my finger on it :patrice:

It's not the same dc argument tho because you know a superman or batman movie will make bank. Money is and will always be the bottom line point blank. We can talk creative and while that factors in Hollywood the money factors more. And man of steel and batman v superman are closed loop stories as is Wonder Woman. Universal bet on a mummy movie starring tom cruise being a big success and I don't think that was a smart move. Hence the cart being before the horse. That's untested in the sense the last time universal monsters were truly popular was in the 30s and 40s and possibly the 50s. They haven't remained in the public consciousness like comic book characters. And audiences don't always flock to stuff they don't have a familiarity with anymore. Which sucks

BvS was open as hell. hence the rocks coming off :cape: 's grave and batman's spidey senses tingling that something was on the horizon and a team needed to be formed (that prep time :wow: )

in terms of universe building, even though sups sucked and they shouldnt have killed zod, MOS was done the right way. BvS was them just getting greedy.

these guys need to just realize that you gotta make a good film and the public demand will drive the universe forward. aint no reason we should have got a damn antman or gotg film but the public demand for more good films made it happen

That's not open as hell breh, that's a cliffhanger but its a closed story. Superman has an arc, and batman has an arc and the bad guy gets put in jail. Although I'll agree with you in part that they got greedy. Man of Steel was self contained as was Wonder Woman...also I don't think the public demanded either one of those movies breh lol they were filmmaker driven which is why they happened and the public liked what they got for the most part. Public can't demand something they barely know about (guardians) and the only reason ant-man got made is because it was on the docket since 2006, even before iron man dropped and everything became official. That was Wright's passion project and he willed it to happen.

But my ultimate point in everything I've said about this is make sure you're doing something dope then keep it moving. Even if it's not well received by everyone, the least you can do is make bank at the box office to prove there's a demand financially at least so you can justify the rest of what you're doing. Assuming a mummy movie repackaged as an action adventure movie fails to learn the lessons from the last time they tried it with Van Helsing

the rocks were a cliff hanger, batman's spidey senses going off and youtube videos of all the characters was them laying out their intent that universe expansion was more important than an actual good film.

and i didnt say the public demanded "antman" or "gotg" i said they demanded more good films. consistently overall positive reception to thor, captain america and iron man led to a demand for more films which gave them the room to expand the universe

but yes i agree with your ultimate point. if you make good films the rest will take care of itself
