It was pretty bad. I thought you could see the good intentions in some of the stuff it tried, and like most of Cruise's recent projects some rewriting by Christopher McQuarrie helps out a lot but overall it's just too clumsily put together, with some atrocious attempted humor (then again, what else could one expect from a movie directed by one of the writers of the Transformers movies?). There were some loud chuckles from the audience at some points in the movie, but never at something that was intended to be funny, like when Cruise is in an underwater swim race with zombies. Good times.

Big props to Cruise though who you just got to respect for his commitment. Dude is always trying, even if the entire production around him is largely in shambles. As far as Universal's "Dark Universe" goes (the first audience chuckle was the Universal logo switching to the title logo that literally reads "Dark Universe"), I think this movie has a small chance of holding up at the box office enough that Universal can continue their plans (if only because I assume Cruise and Crowe are locked in a multiple picture deal) so maybe they will actually bother to bring Dracula Untold back into the fold as well.
