Tim himself has said that he didn't work on those records, but that DeVante straight up "used his sounds"

I think he's being modest, the whole style is Timbaland. He doesn't want to throw the guy that helped his career under the bus. I'm not saying Devante couldn't produce, obviously he could but those were Tim's beats. Devante may have "Produced" it if you get what I mean. That "Love me Down" could of been on Aaliyah's album.

Timbaland modest? haha

The first music board I ever posted on was a Timbaland/Blackground BBS back in 97-98. I think some of the Thomas Crown Chronicles guys were on there too. There was an interview, and Timbaland said straight up that DeVante bit him on those 2 records, and at that point he knew he had to leave. Missy, Ginuwine & Playa all left with Timbaland too.

Even if you don't believe that, the fact that Timbaland received credit on older Jodeci records like, "What About Us (Swing Mob Mix)", "True O.G." and "Time & Place" would mean that he would be credited if he had a hand in them.

Came out in February 1996

Came out in June 1996

Timbo didn't score a hit until August 1996 with If Your Girl Only Knew.

If you have a copy of the "Above The Rim" Soundtrack, open it up. The liner notes for "Blown Away" say it was produced by Devante Swing.

However, during the rap it says "all due respect to Tim and Devante, for making a track so phat..."

how is missy played out when she hasnt dropped an album is half a decade :yeshrug:

Shes played out. No one wants to see her demonic videos or hear her satanic songs anymore. I remember her singing demonic carols about sleeping with men in relationships. Shes clearly a demon. I found it bizarre when she was acting afraid and shocked at Marliyn Mansons demonic performance when she herself makes the same sort of demonic filth that he does. Its just packaged differently.

Cool interview, I'm genuinely happy to see Missy back in the game. And they're spot on a different issues: the lack of diversity, in the beats AND the rappers all sounding the same. I mean now it really feel as if a lot of rappers have the same voice and rhyme the same way, no one has a "style" or a flow"...How can I put it, it too often sounds as if rappers are reciting their lyrics, they ain't got no "flow" or whatever, no charisma...where are this generation's Busta, Snoop, Meth, Treach, Ghost, Red, Cam, Mos...those guys that you instantly recognize as soon as your heard their voice...you have some guys now (Danny Brown, Q, eXquire) but I dunno, they're not at that level either, and yeah the game is kind of oversaturated. I guess it's the gift and the curse of our digital era.

Missy saying the industry insiders are tired of the :trash: being churned out, when they are the culprits responsible for the :trash: being churned out is ironic. :skip:

I respect Timbaland for everything he's done for music but let's be real... he's just upset he's no longer relevant and nobody is coming to him for singles anymore. Hopefully JT's new album is nice but I can't sit here & take him serious when he talks about the industry needing more originality when the last single he produced is typical techno synth heavy foor on the floor with the "a$$ a$$ a$$" claps on every measure...

Real original Tim... :rudy:
