I also loved when they asked Missy what's she's listening to and she said Michael and Prince.

I've been listiening to this heavy

and it's :mindblown: all the styles the Purple One created and flipped. Half of the songs on the second Disc, sounds like the Neptunes late 90s -00s catalogue. :wow:

Wrong. The Neps catalogue sounds like half of the songs on the second disc.

:russ: You know what I meant

:rudy: at the thought of you thinking I'm comparing Prince to the Neptunes.

:skip: The majestic Purple One was making classics when the Neptunes wasn't even a thought.

I think it's fascinating how big dance music is being pushed now.

By the way the new dance/house hybrid like everything elese is :pacspit:

Of course nothing compares to the 90s Robert Miles, Goldie, Underworld and Prodigy Dance movement.

Remeber how Brown Sugar, Groove Theory, and Baduizm had that have heavy bass jazzy sound. I want to know why the industry strayed away from that. :rudy:

I also want to reiterate, the industry have themselves to blame for nobody purchasing shyt, when they promoted this shyt to the masses in droves. :pachaha:

Are records even still going platinum? Oh, yeah Adele just did it multiple times .:skip:
The industry fukked up by chasing the platinum disc. I kind of blame them down south nikkas for running those bar code scams and creating a false sense of what was possible sales wise. Industry got high on fake sales and is still chasing that.

You look at actual big artists, legends of the craft, they were never moving units like that. But they were consistent. We didn't have first week sales back in the day but I bet OB4CL had a similar first week to OB4CL 2. It took a minute to go gold and Rae was proud of that. Now if a dude moves 100K records first week his disc flopped. But when was 500K in the first week ever normal.

Low key Im surprised Tim and Missy didn't get at the DJs cause theyre a huge part of the problem. Radio is supposed to be one of the filters and break out the best + new artists. But they just play whatever is hot and don't stray. The whole genre is suffering because of that and it really does come back to them heavy. I think Envy kind of sensed that which is why he started to get defensive for no apparent reason.

The game is fukked up brays. I have no idea what's going on. And every time I check for whoever is hot I'm disappointed. There are like 6 rappers popping I check for.

The reason why music sounds the way it does is because of DRUGS. Fans and artist are getting high off of stimulants which makes you want to hear fast paced music. House, or electronic music is MUCH easier to make for this style then something like disco. Disco was popular because that was a time when everyone was getting high off of cocaine. Slow and medium paced grooves, like you described, was popular in the 90's because more people strayed away from cocaine, and went to weed which let you appreciate those types of songs. Why do you think bass music in Atlanta and Miami was so big when more slower paced music started getting popular?. It's because everyone was getting high off of cocaine there due to being so close to the ports that brought in cocaine, and it showed in the music.

Once people get burned out from doing all these stimulants like energy drinks, meth, cocaine, adderall, coffee, etc,. the music will slow down. These stimulants are also another reason why people look like clowns, and think they look fresh because cocaine and other stimulants tend to boost your ego, and not let you see the truth which is why chicks who were cute and became crackheads think they still look good when they look like clowns. Why do you think in the late 70's and early-mid '80's, people were dressing like clowns?. It's the DRUGS my little friend. I can tell what artist are getting high off of stimulants by the way they dress.

:ohhh: That shyt makes a lot of sense. Hard drugs make niccas get super hyped with the likes of swag, tight bright clothes, and nonsense behavior. Like the south in the last 10 years getting hyped from the 808s and popping pills like mad.
