I'l say this, bass drums will NEVER be played out.

People will always want bassy songs in the club or in their ride.

That thump goes right thru your body.
he's not saying 808's in general he's saying the way they are programmed and mixed these days. every beat is the same old shyt, gigantic 808's loud as fukk, tripled and flared out hi hats, same old kick patterns. just like when Timbo was huge a few years ago, all his beats were that same old 1-2 kick snare with one finger ass stabbing at a keyboard melodies, it got old quick as fukk

People tend to forget that Timbo is an R&B producer, first and foremost, who had the magic touch for making Hip-Hop radio hits, especially with Missy Elliot. He has no clue on how to make a real street banger. Personally, I felt he was always talent enhancement as opposed of being a real producer.

And BTW, DeVante is still waiting for his props.

how quickly we forget:

At the top.
During every time frame, certain sounds overstay their welcome. 808s can never just disappear though, people need their bass.

They just said this for shock value.

:what::snoop::heh:

nobodys wants to hear this s*t this the music they play when they ready get everybody up out the club and his sh*t dont sound a whole different than whats coming out now so like i said b4 hes hatin on what these young cats out here doing

LOL @ him hating on these young cats when he clearly says he had the same convers

The whole point is to sound different. Most of these producers using 808's in their sound isn't doing anything new. Most of them sound like Lex Luger or Shawty Redd before him.

Tim's definitely not hating because he clearly says in this same interview that he had the same conversation with Mike Will. Mike Will is one of these young cats.

I don't even think he's so much saying the 808 itself is old... but the style of beats that have been out there these last 6-7 years or so has gotten played out... and it has. Music's always changing, so it's gotta go in a different direction eventually... right? That won't happen if everybody keeps makin' the same damn beat with the same damn sounds forever.
