Man, of course they can. They just need one city like a Dubai to start popping off and the rest of that country can follow. They also should not drop their nuclear programs - that's maybe one of the biggest factors.

China was bad in the 80's.

Now look at some of these Chinese cities. Look like some anime shyt.

They absolutely make America's best look old and outdated. Almost like the cities here peaked during the 80's/90's Silicon Valley era in comparison.

Maybe poverty and other issues are exacerbated in Africa, but I'm an optimist and feel like some countries in Africa can definitely achieve standard of living similar to many western nations. Hell, some already do. Although perhaps to a smaller segment of the population

No, not in our lifetime. For the same reason you won't see a fully developed Caribbean, Southern Asian, Central and most South American countries.

These nations were created to be nothing more then factories

I define developed as having a human development index over 0.800

Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay have that
South Asia and Africa are improving albeit very slowly

If you've never been to an African country, then your take on this is useless. Been to Ghana three times, Nigeria twice, and Gabon and I will tell you that there are many areas in those countries that make America look 3rd world.

Tech has boomed and the health care system there has drastically improved since the past 20 years.

Exactly. It doesn’t need to be developed like the West. Africans can build a “first world” country in their own style/culture. I be in West Africa too breh and I know exactly what you mean. There’s some FLY spots out there that puts western world to shame.

There is no third world area in America

There are shanty towns in Mississippi and other parts of United States. Even more so, this is due to more people than most cities can handle, moving there. If Nigeria limited how many people tried to move there, you wouldn't have this issue. It has 3 times as many people as NYC last time I checked. Many countries we would consider rich have these issues too:

There are shanty towns in Mississippi and other parts of United States. Even more so, this is due to more people than most cities can handle, moving there. If Nigeria limited how many people tried to move there, you wouldn't have this issue. It has 3 times as many people as NYC last time I checked.
