Again, you don’t even understand communism. As I said, pick up a book and learn fact before you step foot with your opinions.

Throwing words around and shifting goal posts won’t help you.
Define socialism first then explain to me how that could lead to only communism, knowing good and well there are other forms of socialism out there. There is no pure form of socialism like we said so how is communism then the de facto ultimatum?

What’s fully developed if folks in those countries are starving and homeless?

I want y’all to see the jig.
There will always be losers in any society other than an subsistance agricultural society.

Often times a country on its way to becoming an economic power has a valuable resource to build on like oil for the Middle East…what valuable resources can these countries export to increase their presence? I know Africa is rich in diamonds and it’s a shame they couldn’t develop and corner that market before those cacs stole it…
Botswana has essentially cornered the jewelry diamond market ( I think Russia still has the industrial diamond market) Africa has tons of Gas and Oil. Mozambique was building a LNG facility until some pale arabs convinced some c00ns to start a war.

Myself and my own.
Yes. In fact some experts think some will be on par with China. The issue is, how well will that wealth disperse? You will have really rich countries near really poor countries and this will create issues. All that aside, with many of the boomers steeping out of the way or outright dying, I think many of these countries will be for the better.

If you've never been to an African country, then your take on this is useless. Been to Ghana three times, Nigeria twice, and Gabon and I will tell you that there are many areas in those countries that make America look 3rd world.

Tech has boomed and the health care system there has drastically improved since the past 20 years.
This too. I was baffled by how far Nigeria, for example, has come. Despite its issues, it has really developed. The main issue is that it does not focus enough on social programs to uplift its citizens. This is major issue in many of the places. They operate on a "bootstraps on steroids" mentality and like to have outside industries do all the developing until they are pressed. The fact that they have gotten as far as they have while fukking around is impressive by itself. A half-competent person would turn many places into a paradise.

There is a thing called the resource curse, where having resources can cause issues while not having any can lend some stability to a given country. I wonder how much of that plays out in Africa.

Like you told me to step foot in Africa before I speak on African issues.

Pick up a book communism before you speak on communism.

I did, now you explain because I never mentioned communism i said socialism.

We have libertarian socialism, democratic socialism, Leninism, Marxism, anarchism etc along with communism all being a form of socialism

But you immediately went to communism as a go to

What is meant by “developed”? There are no commodities in western nations that cannot be obtained in many African nations. At a higher price/cost potentially, but still.

I don’t equate concrete jungles with development. Meaning the lack of skyscrapers and the existence of trees and fields of brown soil in their place doesn’t mean a country is not developed.

The same issues that plague African countries; corruption, wealth disparity/distribution, tribalism, hunger, lack of adequate infrastructure and public transport, affordable housing, adequate and affordable medical care - these are the same issues that you find in so called developed countries.

I do hope African nations can become more self sufficient in the future

point one thing that I said that isn't true.

thecoli is rife with posts calling america or neighborhoods in america third world countries.

"developed" is a loose term thus me asking for what it's meant by it as that qualifier and goal posts are often moved.

I did say African nations need to become self sufficient. They are constantly being exploited.

No, not in our lifetime. For the same reason you won't see a fully developed Caribbean, Southern Asian, Central and most South American countries.

These nations were created to be nothing more then factories

Manufacturing is what builds a middle class economy. China is basically one big factory
