I feel your pain...you either have to figure out how to cut unnecessary expenses (which i'm certain most of everything is necessary) or increase your income...you can't increase income without sacrificing time to build a skillset or taking a risk on something that won't pan out
If you do want to focus on building a new skill that will get you higher pay consider moving back with your parents until you get what you need to get higher pay
this is a tough spot that so many Americans find themselves in....working a dull job with no real chance at elevating but it's their only option just to keep the lights on and food on the table...
once you can increase your income be very disciplined on putting away 500-1000 a month and just let it stack for years in an account like betterment and let it compound
