It’s so weird to just throw that out there with zero context and use that to support an argument

How many of those trips have things in the car that aren’t practical for a bike? Groceries, tools, packages, luggage etc

How many of those trips are people with kids? You want to ride a bike lane in a damn city with kids? Good luck

How many of those trips are done in the heat, cold, or rain?

How many of those trips are multiple stops and errands in different parts of the city.

You can’t just throw an arbitrary number out there without proper context.
Good grief.
I don't know if I have the energy to show you how public transit and cycling around the world functions when it comes to groceries and the weather.

Suffice it to say...everyone else has figured it out.

That’s cool and all until you have to take a ride that’s normally 20 minutes in a car and it’s an hour and a half on a bike.
I haven't even been out of the continent and this is plain silly, a good bus/lightrail public transportation system makes something like that trivial

They had lightrails when I lived northwest, no issue bringing your bike and just jumping off wherever, might get there faster than car if there's traffic, people without cars moving with groceries

shyt I was going to catch a flight, one of the stops is directly at the airport :whew: easily saved Uber money or owing someone a favor asking for a ride

We have the technology but that would hurt the big car corporations and gas companies and THEY control your government official who says nah we can't do it guys sorry :troll:

Looks like the train station in Amsterdam. I was there in 2023 and soon as you walk out of the train station there is a huge bike lane integrated into the sidewalk and road. Every major city in America should have pathways for 3 modes of transportation: car, foot, and bike/skate/minimotorbike
It's possible but there is too much push back by retarded nimby ass americans who never left their state. There are dedicated bike lanes in my downtown and residents on those blocks are fighting tooth and nail to get them removed since they "need" to park in bike lanes for deliveries and other goofy shyt

north american cities with impressive bike infrastructure, proving it can work: Portland, Vancouver, parts of NYC

I do. it means get on your MF crutches and put in work to get to physical therapy; and when I see you sweating hanging on for dear life I'll throw you a bottled water.

Explain how it won’t cost a lot to completely redo roadways, highways, parking lots, housing and commercial zoning and other aspects of urban planning nationwide?
It's not that I don't believe it won't cost money.
I don't believe we are stuck.

This comment is silly.

Have you ever heard "it's not binary" before?
It seems like you haven't.
You can’t talk to a lot of these people. The car industry brainwashed the public 100 years ago and also designed our cities to be as car centric as possible. Did you know that jaywalking was a marketing tool by the car industry to convince people that cars own the street where before streets were meant to be shared with pedestrians .
