This how nikkas lose. Here you have an opportunity to get in early on the NFT game but yall just too :flabbynsick: & skeptical to see it. Probably wait till it becomes more mainstream 10 yrs from now and complain about we got priced out

nikkas probably still go to Target or bestbuy to buy music CDs too:mjlol:
Get in early how. Why not explain it to us cause i literally don’t get it

but I’m saying why would you want to pay for something you can watch for free?

like say you “own it” and your boy swings by your crib and you’re all like “fam Check out what i just copped for $71k!” Then show him your “digital card”

then he’s like coo and pulls out his phone and shows you the exact same clip :francis:
its a trading collectible

imagine you had a rookie card of bron and your boy pulls up an image on google of 2003 bron

its not really the same is it?

no because when you have a card you have a physical item ...there are only so many in circulation so your buddy can’t swing by with a replica ...there were only so many made

video clips are everywhere ....the “signature” is hypebeast talk ...owning rare physical items it’s what creates value

videos and content pieces are only valuable when you own the rights to them otherwise you just have a YouTube clip with a “signature”

it's like having a rembrant vs. a copy of that same rembrant. one is stamped with community consensus that it is the original and that has value (to people who can afford it).

even at a lower level would some people wouldn't wear knock-offs even if they were as good as the originals.

it's a self-status item that gets you status from the group and which you yourself use to give yourself a feeling of status to yourself.

outside of the essentials of life most things work like that .. unfortunately .. brands rely on it.

i think the NBA video thing is a bit too far but it is a good idea. that is why he "only" got 50m. 50m doesn't go very far on a project like this.

anyone watching this should think of where else the same applies .. but better ..

it is like what-three-words.. abstract out why it works and apply it to something else (maybe even better).

Because now you got something worth $71k that you can resell. That Youtube video doesn't have any value or owner and nobody paid for that. The clip in itself is not important, it's the fact that it became a unique item somebody paid for.

Like a famed painting. You could do the same exact painting, watch it at a museum for free... But the original is the one which holds value.

People are truly nuts

But its the same reason why sneakers that cost $9 to make - and fall apart if you actually wear them.. and some even if you never unbox them - can go for thousands of dollars. Even used shoes. That somebody else wore.

This is just hype for hype sake. The files might as well be totally empty. Just a high res photo of a steamy turd. Wouldn't matter.

These markets just whip themselves up into a dumb ass frenzy out of thin air, practically.

The only mechanism at work is lifting cash out of the wallets of the average user. And funneling that cash toward a few that are really eating.

But hell with it. Y'all go ahead (whoever is down with it.. most you Brehs read like you have sense).
