I remember saying to 9th that "Even the not so dope beats on God's Son at least stay out of the way to let Nas do his thing" and 9th literally said to me "what the hell does that even mean?" :mjtf:

I still stand by what I said. :hubie:

I'm no 9th wonder but as a producer that would probably prove the point that the beats aren't good. The beats are supposed to be in unison with the artist to paint a picture, if they are a hindrance or it feels like they are just on in the background while the artist gets their shyt off then it isn't a worthwhile beat for that artist.

That said I don't have a problem with God's Son beats and I've never heard God's Stepson, but that comment resonated with me.

Also people brush over Mase coming back with G-Unit talking about fukking Brandy and having hoes in the Church.

Your man of “God” brehs

This nikka mase did exactly what cam said he was gonna do...:mjlol:

That nikka was praying on hot97:russ: after getting bombed on by jim jones

But if you play the "quiet" type, you gonna always get the benefit of the doubt over the abrasive types

Eminem's Black girlfriend. When Benzino leaked the tapes, the defense was that they were made because Eminem was upset that his girlfriend dumped him. It was said he was dating a Black girl at the time. Nothing else was ever mentioned about her and no digging was done to corroborate the story.

Not only what you guys said, but Madlib didn't fukk with Dilla at all originally. Dilla rapped on some of his beats without permission, and Madlib was pissed about that shyt. They ended up patching things over and working on JayLib together, but everyone overlooks that their relationship basically got started due to some friction.

EDIT: I'm tired as hell and @chunky_mcdaniels correctly pointed out that it was backwards. Dilla didn't fukk with Madlib to begin with after Madlib had rapped over some of his beats without permission.

Also, I think everyone forgets that Dilla's raps were nothing close to the subject matter of most of the people he's famous for producing for. Dilla's raps were all about strippers, three-ways, weed, heavy chains, big trucks, and even a fair amount of gun play. He had some of the most ignorant street raps ever, but gets put into this soulquarian/conscious box due to his affiliation with Tribe, Common, De La, Badu, etc.

Yeah, SV being called “conscious” is just some ignorant nikkaz feeling like everything has to be super-street. There was nothing conscious about them, or Little Brother.
