Are staffing companies worth it brehs? I never used one or a temp agency
I've gotten a few creative temp agency jobs through robert half doing digital marketing. I became cool with the recruiters and I do a good job so they would keep sending me stuff. I was working full time telling them im not working trying to get another part time tempt remote job for a law firm.

They are good for just gaining interview experience, but their M.O is to just get information from you to gain more leads:
"Oh, where did you interview? Really? What's their hiring managers name?"

If they find a spot for you, THEN you interview for a company with a temp to perm position..

All my career moves were direct applications I sent over to the companies.

That might have been the case in the past but in 2021 most of these companies are revolving doors. Increase your chances and save your time by having a agency do it for you. They literally get paid off getting you hired, so it’s in their best interest to get you into these jobs and quick.

These arent exactly interview siutations but they are a good indicator you are about to have your time wasted.

If your interaction with the company starts with someone emailing you about availability for a phone screening. If they're truly interested, they will call you directly and screen you on the spot.

If you hear "Hi, I'm _____from Robert Half Technologies"
Same goes for Tek Systems as well, I've been corresponding with them since 2018 and til this day, nothing has ever materialized from dealing with them, fukk them

IF a recruiter says their calling about some vague opportunities they think you'd be a great fit for, but first some quick questions.... They're just data mining and trying to look busy for their bosses.

IF they mention having more than a 2 phase hiring process. CyberArk told me they had 7 rounds of interviews, for a $61k annually, Systems Analyst position....

I've obtained $85k+ SysAdmin positions with the ease of signing up for a Costco membership but you want me to jump through the mother of all hoops for this shyt? I promptly told her to dont even bother and withdraw my application.

If an Indian recruiter calls you, you can be 99.5% sure it will lead to nowhere

It's not completely set in stone, but panel interviews is almost a dead giveaway you will more than likely not get the job just due to how group dynamics work. Not saying decline them, but be aware. Especially if more than 3 people are part of the panel. I've had panel interviews of 6 to 9 people.

check this shyt, Back in 2009, I interviewed for a groundskeeper position at a community college paying 9.82 an hr (Yeah I tend to hold onto shyt lol).

I had to be interviewed by 12 people on a panel for a trash man position....Muthafukkin 12 people!!!!!!.....all of them black, who might as well had been the staff of Blavity; Bunch of uppity over dressed azz negroes grilling me about my ability to put litter in a bucket and dump trash in a compactor for a whopping $9.82 an hour in a big azz c-level executive style office I had to walk through a boilerroom underneath the campus to even get to. All of them combative and standoffish. I didnt even know they had this many black people on staff, but apparently they keep them around in the basement just for this situation. It was the most demoralizing interview experience I ever had to the point caused a scene and chewed their azzes out for this over the top bullshyt; I decded I was gon go out like a soldier.

4 months later ,they extended me an offer lol... I already had a job paying 16/hr by then:mjlol::snoop:

I got hired off a panel interview once...only once in my entire work life...my bad twice.

My bad, but panel interviews trigger the shyt out of me lol

When I was a rookie in the IT game...man Robert Half Technologies and Tek Systems used to take me for a RIDE :wow:

RHT would call me and be like we want to talk to you about this position could you come to our office and I was trying to get up out of helpdesk and I was like "of course" :gladbron:. Got me driving in lunch time traffic in downtown dallas...got me parking a block away and hoping i don't get my shyt towed cause the parking spots say shyt like no parking from 6 - 9 am, 1 - 4 pm, no parking 24 hours and I am like :dwillhuh: "its 11:22 though". I go in there and they are like "Ah Mr Duckbutta great to meet you can you fill out this application right here:heh:" And I am filling it out like "well we moving on up....to the eastside :myman:" and then I sit and talk with the recruiter and he is like "so we don't have any job openings right now we just wanted to get an updated resume on file but tell us about the kind of position you are looking for:youngsabo:" And I'm just sitting their like "are you fukking serious nikka I'm on my lunch break right now I got to get back to the office asap I got these data entry people coming back from lunch high as shyt about to lock ALL they passwords and then they going to open a sev 1 ticket and try and blame me when they don't get any work done":damn:. Running up out of RHT about to break my neck praying my car didn't get towed:wow:

Man your whole post took me back to interview days :wow:

I had an interview at a collections place once, doing help desk...they were using BOOTLEG EVERYTHING...windows, free version of ubuntu linux...they were using the free version of esxi...shyt was :wow:

Man I really forgot how hard the IT game can be...shyt is no joke :wow:

I interviewed for a help desk job at some random company in duncanville (my first mistake :mjlol:) and they called me back for a second one. As I am walking in I see the two guys who interviewed me walking out carrying all they shyt in boxes:picard:...I'm like these dudes getting laid off, they the dudes I was supposed to work with:picard:... get to the managers office he got an offer on the table for all of 36k and i was making 42k at the place I was working at. He was like "what you think about this:myman:" I told him that was great let me think about it, went back to my car, asked the two dudes who was leaving what happened and they both said they had been laid off...left and never looked back...that company called me everyday for at least a week wanting to know when I would sign the offer letter :mjlol:

7 interviews?!?!?!?:mjtf:

Unless u trying to work for the FBI, CIA or a top secret organization don't ever do no 7 interviews for a job

fukk outta here

State job, Hospital applications project manager.

They aren't going make a bag like that easy to get.:yeshrug:

The hiring manager said I was the second choice ,but that cac was juelzing so much on the MS team call I was :childplease:.

That's what kills me about these cacs. They're cool as fukk and all about diversity and inclusion until you can get that position on thier level. That shyt switches up real quick.

These recruiters like Robert Half and Tek done set me up for the fall too many damn times:dead:

First time I went to Robert Half, I was fresh outta college(not really saavy with corporate cacs), three piece suit in Philly, Recruiter was this Indian bull, told me my resume was perfect...

Got to the waiting area, there is like 20 people filling out applications, salary range, contract w/rh for them to search on your behalf, references, etc.

All said and done, I was like.."Okay, when do I start?"
:feedme:

Indian Bull: "Well, let me put you in our database and we'll get back to you if any clients want to interview you"
:lolbron::russ:
Rookie Nino:
:stopitslime:

It was always the same, "We sent your resume over to XYZ, they are still interviewing candidates."

One thing Recruiters have taught me, it is how to scam people and buy time to avoid results....

- "We'll get back to you"
- "We are still doing the first round of interviews"
- "We will get back to you in two weeks"
- "We will contact you with the next steps"

Ive heard all of these. One still bothers me to this day. Had 9 interviews with multiple people only to be told nah. I will never do business with them and I hope they fail :pacspit:
