What about times you don't even want the job but they try to pressure you to accept it on the spot
I had a woman offer me a job for $19k (a year) which required me wearing a suit everyday and basically running her set of businesses while building out an IT system
:unimpressed:
She was black and gave me the interview thru a mutual friend so i felt bad but fukk all that. She kept talking like it was a foregone conclusion i was accepting the job :mjtf:, talking about making copies of keys and what we'd be working on together :mjlol:

It's not completely set in stone, but panel interviews is almost a dead giveaway you will more than likely not get the job just due to how group dynamics work. Not saying decline them, but be aware. Especially if more than 3 people are part of the panel. I've had panel interviews of 6 to 9 people.

no exaggeration I once had an interview where the entire department was there :dead:
We went in a meeting room and it was like 10+ people sitting around a big ass table. Each person basically asked me 1 question with the supervisor asking me several
That was the same interview I stared at a womans big titties when I answered her question, not cause they were titties but mainly cause I was nervous and just trying to not lose focus by looking people directly in the eye (i normally look at their mouth/chin so it seems like i'm giving eye contact :snoop:)
needless to say i didn't get that job.
And you right, Robert Half must be a money laundering scheme cause i never heard anyone getting a job thru them yet they spam everyone

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Literally just had one last week that was a huge waste of time. It was a panel interview with two mangers and their manger via Zoom. A little background, I work in auto claims for now until I can get into a PhD program. I did that for a year for one of the biggest carriers in the country, I met all the qualifications for this job and I was referred by a current employee there. Of course, I don’t tell them my plan is to get my PhD.

Sign #1 that my time was being wasted.
The managers’ manger first question was tell me about about yourself, so I go into my stump speech about myself and my claims handling experience. I talk about doing liability, managing rentals, settling PD, and so forth. Literally, the next question is, “So, do you have experience deciding liability on claims?”

:gucci:

Like, she didn’t listen to anything I said. Next question is also something I already stated.

Sign #2 my time was being wasted.
The manager’s manager said something like, “Oh, we sound like we’re more busy here than your previous carrier.” She kept asking about files and exposures, and so on. This was a huge tell, because this was a job that also included Bodily Injury and she and I both know that you can’t compare property damage only exposure to BI exposures. Of course BI will have more exposures, the expectations and statue of limitations are different because typically attorneys are involved. You can have a BI claim for years. There’s no reason I should having a property damage claim for months on end. That doesn’t mean I’m not used to working in a high volume setting, but she knew that. I worked at one of the biggest auto insurance carriers in the country.

Sign #3 that my time was being wasted.
At the end she was just like… well… it was nice meeting you. No, you’ll be hearing from our people regardless. You’ll get an email. Nothing.

They were all white (heavy :mjpls: vibes in retrospect), but the manager didn’t like me from the jump for whatever reason. Oh well, fukk them.

I've heard most of what's been said in this thread during interviews. But it's sort of different with the government since everything runs through USAjobs.

Still, you kind of have a feeling if you got the job or not. I've been on a few interviews the past few months and I haven't gotten any of them.

I asked damn near all the questions and basically took over the show in the 2nd round. 1st round with "recruiters" aka people who know nothing but hold the keys to your life are usually a breeze

If you’re not using a staffing agency then your taking a L. Let the agencies do most of the leg work, only thing you should do is show up for the interview

Robert half is trash IMO like someone said in here. I have had really great luck with staffing the universe. Landed the best job I’ve ever had with them and they did most of the work and the told me Exactly how to do the interview :wow: Goat agency.

Are staffing companies worth it brehs? I never used one or a temp agency

They are good for just gaining interview experience, but their M.O is to just get information from you to gain more leads:
"Oh, where did you interview? Really? What's their hiring managers name?"

If they find a spot for you, THEN you interview for a company with a temp to perm position..

If you’re not using a staffing agency then your taking a L. Let the agencies do most of the leg work, only thing you should do is show up for the interview

All my career moves were direct applications I sent over to the companies.
