My man she told me how her interview went and various people kept bringing up this other medical position that was more customer facing. By other people I mean different people she met at the office before during and after the interview. She told me about that and I told her they were going to hit her with the swoop and swap like Allstate.

sure enough the next morning the very first thing they send her is an email asking her if she wanted the other position. She inquires about the administrative position and they quote some bullshyt experience that she doesn’t have. The truth is they saw her résumé and figured they could finesse her into taking a position they actually really need to fill. I tried to be made for her but I had that shyt happened to me before to. I did almost 4 months in a billing position making over 15, which was the most I had up until that point, and do the office politics I was let go. Their HR says they didn’t want to lose me because I was a good worker so they sent me to another division in the business. A guy walks me around the workshop and shows me what they do and proclaims proudly “ and that was your interview.” I ask what the pay is the next day when HR gets back to me and it was 10 fukking dollars. I ghosted them and my mom was pissed thinking I blew my opportunity. :mjlol:

They love putting BW in customer facing roles. Gotta monetize their “attitudes”.

They are reluctant at putting black ppl on the inside.

It is what it is breh, I’m just doing my job. I can’t advance someone unqualified who isn’t a good fit or I lose my job :stopitslime:

The frustration stems from these companies not being forthcoming and stating that we’ll be moving in a different direction early on so the candidate can move on and not waste their time. The job interview process is a lot of embellishing/lying from both sides but especially from interviewers who don’t really back up what they say. I get you are doing your job though.

damn. i'm probably toast, then. gotta keep looking

Don't give up breh, my first professional IT position took 3 months and 2 interviews to get hired. I thought I didn't get the job initially, but the director filled me in on the situation:
"Sorry we got to you so late, we had 8 candidates and 500 applications, then I went on vacation and the HR manager went on vacation after I got back. Welcome"

I've been on lots of interviews and they all say the same thing at times to avoid any unpleasantness...

Yup. She has a friendly “white girl” voice and they are trying to fill a position they are super short in and roped her with horse shyt. It reminds me of when I worked at FedEx and it was dope because it was the most Black people I’ve ever worked with in one job. If you looked at management however there wasn’t a brother or sister in sight. I worked with a black chef who was going off nightly because he was the only other black person than me and he had to deal with a bunch of stuff yet they would never let him take over the whole kitchen the way he wanted to.

I got so heated at this company, I sent them a crazy email after 3 weeks of waiting:

"Dear Mr. Brown,
We are still in the process of interviewing candidates, we will let you know the results within the next few days"

My response:
"After three weeks after I sent you a follow-up message, your email is magically working again. By all means let me know what the outcome of the process ends up being"

Cacs pissed me off at that point...

I remember her saying “well we have all your info…” and I cut her the fukk off and said “wait wait :whoa:, I just want to say something before I leave…” and I started selling the fukk out of myself, I started making shyt up, I probably spoke for a good 3 minutes. When I was done she asked me if I could start the day after 4th of July. I’ve been working there for 6 years now. I ain’t never do no shyt like that and I was surprised it worked.

Thats bullshyt. If you are trying to move up, lateral or worse is a complete waste. Also if you take a day off or something…just a big waste of your time. My girl was trying to be less customer facing and she got…more customer facing.

Wasn’t really tombout you or your shorty situation, that is some bullshyt to basically demote you

I mean if u going to interview for a company you don’t already work for and they turn u down for the position you interviewed for but offer you another one, that’s better than a complete rejection :ehh:

These arent exactly interview siutations but they are a good indicator you are about to have your time wasted.

If your interaction with the company starts with someone emailing you about availability for a phone screening. If they're truly interested, they will call you directly and screen you on the spot.

If you hear "Hi, I'm _____from Robert Half Technologies"
Same goes for Tek Systems as well, I've been corresponding with them since 2018 and til this day, nothing has ever materialized from dealing with them, fukk them

IF a recruiter says their calling about some vague opportunities they think you'd be a great fit for, but first some quick questions.... They're just data mining and trying to look busy for their bosses.

IF they mention having more than a 2 phase hiring process. CyberArk told me they had 7 rounds of interviews, for a $61k annually, Systems Analyst position....

I've obtained $85k+ SysAdmin positions with the ease of signing up for a Costco membership but you want me to jump through the mother of all hoops for this shyt? I promptly told her to dont even bother and withdraw my application.

If an Indian recruiter calls you, you can be 99.5% sure it will lead to nowhere

It's not completely set in stone, but panel interviews is almost a dead giveaway you will more than likely not get the job just due to how group dynamics work. Not saying decline them, but be aware. Especially if more than 3 people are part of the panel. I've had panel interviews of 6 to 9 people.

check this shyt, Back in 2009, I interviewed for a groundskeeper position at a community college paying 9.82 an hr (Yeah I tend to hold onto shyt lol).

I had to be interviewed by 12 people on a panel for a trash man position....Muthafukkin 12 people!!!!!!.....all of them black, who might as well had been the staff of Blavity; Bunch of uppity over dressed azz negroes grilling me about my ability to put litter in a bucket and dump trash in a compactor for a whopping $9.82 an hour in a big azz c-level executive style office I had to walk through a boilerroom underneath the campus to even get to. All of them combative and standoffish. I didnt even know they had this many black people on staff, but apparently they keep them around in the basement just for this situation. It was the most demoralizing interview experience I ever had to the point caused a scene and chewed their azzes out for this over the top bullshyt; I decded I was gon go out like a soldier.

4 months later ,they extended me an offer lol... I already had a job paying 16/hr by then:mjlol::snoop:

I got hired off a panel interview once...only once in my entire work life...my bad twice.

My bad, but panel interviews trigger the shyt out of me lol
What did you tell the panel of people for the trash man position job?

Had a phone interview with three Big Dawgs for a promotion in a different region.

Buddy tells me “We’ll make a decision in 30-45 days”
:smugdraper:

46 days roll around, and I hadn’t heard shyt.
:mjlol:

I eventually ended up accepting another position in a more desirable location, so it really worked out and was a blessing that I didn’t get the one mentioned above.
