At the end of the Day being in Win now mode allows you to do that. The 3rd and 4th rounder for the most part are players not ready to contribute right away.

But out of all our 3rds..... Fred Warner is about the only IMPACT player we’ve drafted in pretty much this decade

I don't like this kind of thinking either. Just because we couldn't draft doesn't mean there's no impact player available.

Wasn't Frank Gore a third round pick anyway?

The other reason I don't like the trade is that he's a pure rental for basically half a season and playoffs, on decline and I'm not even sure he's much better than what we have

Anyway, that's my initial assessment, I'll be glad if I'm proven wrong

Dion probably the best Rental we acquired and that worked out pretty well
