Toussaint kept on gettin duped by the French and ultimately it cost him his life. Slavery in DR wasn't nowhere near as sick and grotesque as it was in Haiti under the French so I suppose that might be part of the divide, but Hispanola was united under Dessalines Jean-Baptiste I believe.

I'm no expert but brazil, Columbia, cuba and panama seem to me like they have a lot of afro-latinos but its not like in DR and PR where nearly everybody has African in them, like they're more a separate group. I agree with you BUT, I am aware that there are a lot of people who have power who believe in white supremacy, and they unite ALL whites together regardless of what country they come from, then write the history of white people. This is why you can be a white person from one country, and have pride when you see another person who is white, do something good, and they are from a different country from you.

This is also why most people don't see a dominican, puerto rican or a black american when something bad happens, they see ******s. The problem is brown people of the world don't understand white supremacy, and how it effects us, so they keep thinking by separating themselves from black, they will get a better life but, this isn't the case for most of them. You can see this by how fukked up the countries are, and how the rich Western nations are shytting on them.

I really think a lot of colored people of the world are scared of the white man, and would rather fight each other, instead of fight the system that hurts them. I'm not saying white people in general are messed up, I'm saying the system that protects them is. I think what a lot people are not understanding is that MOST and Ill put the # at 80% of Dominicans do not deny there AFRICAN roots , most people don't understand the historical and political complexity involved in the Dominican/Haitian relationship. Its much more than just skin color. Are there ignorant Dominicans YES no denying that, but as i said before there is a equal # of ignorant African Americans IF we want to go there.

You can say the same thing about Brazilians , Brazil has the largest Afro descendants population outside of Africa, so yes that means there are more "black" people in Brazil than in america , now i dare you to ask a Brazilian if he is "black" he will say NO but ask him if there is any AFRICAN blood in him he will say yes.
