It's not just Dominicans. Some Caribbean nations... some mixed people, etc. We are just more upset about Dominicans doing it because we like their women.

also...

I think it's because there are a lot of Dominicans baseball players in the MLB. And some have came out and said they are not black. 10-15 years ago people was like, :wtf: when they heard Bernie Mac looking Dominican players that said they wasn't black. I think over the decade that both Americans and Dominicans are understanding why this was the case. Even other countries, Peele came out a few years ago and identity himself as black for the first time. As time go on, people in the western hemisphere will become more and more educated on the African slave trade.

I don't think people of African decent in other western countries understand that, people in the U.S. use black as a slang term to identify a person with a high concentrated of melanin in their skin.

i agree.. I think the reason i listed was more personal for me..

There used to be chicks in college I liked.. then they would turn me off w the, "I'm not black ... I'm dominican" I would :childplease: Then have me questioning my own brainwashing like.. "do i only like this bytch better than all the chicks in a 5 dorm radius, cuz she has these features and speaks like this" :wow:

I will say that I look at the David Ortiz/Sammy Sosa type Dominicans like :why: when they say they aren't Black.

However, people are flat out wrong when they say "Dominicans are Black". Yes, there are alot of them. But your average Dominican looks like A-Rod/Albert Pujols.

at first glance i would say light skin black... maybe mixed. Then closer , I would say some type of hispanic; which is an ethnicity.

I really don't believe that I have a higher % of African genetic roots than most Dominicans.

We shouldn't look at our island brothers and sisters as sellouts, or embarrassments. Instead, we should be spreading our knowledge, our history, and our beliefs in ways that they can relate to and appreciate.

But on another, similar note....

According to Henry Louis Gates, the average african american has almost a quarter european blood in them.
He's revealed through his research that most african americans have a white male ancestor few genrations back:mjpls:.

Does this mean that majority "black" african americans should actually refer to themselves as "mixed":dwillhuh:

How far back do we go before we:whoa: at ones "whiteness"?

Dominicans say they aren't black, because they have Spanish and Taino blood, but if you ask a Dominican if Obama and Halle Berry(Both have white mothers) are black, they will say yes. So they aren't consistent at all. Why give two different answers? What's the difference? :dwillhuh:

I have Arawak blood in me, you wont hear me denying my African heritage, these people are fukking c00ns, whatever.

No. I would call them what they are mulatto or mixed.

My problem with those mulatto Dominicans are when they deny their African ancestry.

You can't tell people what to identify as, everyones identity is their own. Regardless of someones ancestry it's up to them what they identify as.
