Interesting, although it was 9 years ago, I'm sure she feels the same.
I guess she is AA, but never called herself ADOS (or did she). So I am confused where the argument of her not being ADOS is coming up (which is what I actually was meant to ask in the first place, not AA)
On another note:
Why is it she claimed AA, it would be honest if she claimed she was a black woman.
Both Harris and Booker present their support for Israel as an extension of their reverence for the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. When Harris spoke at AIPAC in 2018, she cited the voting rights march from Selma to Montgomery as her inspiration for being there, and referred to “shared values” between the U.S. and Israel. Booker’s 2019 AIPAC remarks made similar connections with a lengthy conclusion tying the lessons of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination to his love for Israel.
Indian mother and cac husband and she claimed she was the top cop. Ain't like i expect her to say she a real nikka cause she not. Oh so you scared to say you a black womanI can only presume the politically correct term for people in public office is AA, even if you aren't directly African and she just rolled with it. I aint defending her on any of this - I am pretty much against her, but I don't want her to get beaten up online over her race, just to grow in stature and popularity offline
Stuff that shows she's shytty is her history as DA, human rights and her attitude to Israel (even her husband is a Jew which could influence her decisions):
A lot of of black people were disappointed by Obama. Harris and Booker are too much like him. And people don't want to be disappointed againSo Y'all were OK with Obama who was born from a Kenyan father and white mother.. Didn't get swayed then by the Obama is a Muslim terrorist who's not from here rhetoric. . but have issues with kamala Harris representing black people? Cause she isn't ADOS?
Sadly 9:1 but that proved to be the difference in some states. I just don’t see a lot of anglos and latinos for her.Ok so let’s say Kamila Harris got the nomination. What percentage of the Black vote do you think she would get?
Again what does that have to do with ADOS in 2019?Maybe cause these people migrated? A lot of west Central African peoples have migration stories of originating from the north/east Africa.
That's not what he's saying though? LOL. He is saying everybody and anybody Black (race/skintone) can be African-American/Black American. And Black American/African-American in America has an lineage/ethnicity attached to it. We are a specific group of people based on lineage/ethnicity/culture.
Nobody is stopping us from being AA -- but we want to stop others who are not AA/Black American - to stop classifying themselves as such -- when they are not.

Just bc you missed the conversation don't mean it wasn't had. Even on the coli, I remember people claiming to be AA just bc they grew up here. Which is why we invented ADOS in the first place. Now everybody gon play dumb. Please direct me to where Haitians and Jamaicans are saying they are ADOS? No one is coming for your reparations, but at the same time no one here gets to dictate anyone's blackness or discount anyone's experience growing up as black in America. This what some do and it creates a rift.

I feel like I'm experiencing deja vu with this current election cycle.
This was an interesting thread here regarding Keisha Lance Bottoms endorsing Joe Biden.

This is strangely reminiscent to the devout support the black establishment initially put behind Hilary out of loyalty to Bill (see Roland Martin). It was only until Valerie Jarrett stepped in that we started to see a mass exodus of support from Clinton to Obama among the establishment. It's important to note that Valerie Jarrett's uncle, Vernon Jordan, was Clinton's right hand man, and one of the most powerful men in Washington DC.
And I think out of loyalty to Obama, many are putting their weight behind Biden.
Desiree Rogers, even though working alongside Biden in the Obama Administration, just came out in support of Harris and I gather much of the Chicago Obama camp is rallying behind her as well.
Unlike the Coli, for many, there seems to be no question with respect to Kamala's loyalty to the black community because she has embraced many of the "accoutrements" of "blackness" deemed as "important" among the black establishment.
In addition to choosing to attend Howard University, she chose to pledge Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Kamala is in the top row, fourth from left with the shades on.
That would be enough for many of these folks.
But she was also inducted into the Links, Inc.
And if anyone knows anything about the Links, they would not have inducted her if her blackness and service to the black community was not the top most priority.
So I also think her induction sealed the deal for many people.
