At best it will have a loose tie in to Cloverfield...because there is no reason to be so ambiguous with a cloverfield trailer...already showed the little parasites in the first movie...already showed the big monster in the first movie...either it is a continuation of it or it is not :russ:...no need to keep it a secret or try to build buzz for it...

With that said...It's got Goodman and Winstead in it so :blessed:

My meat start jumping around watching the trailer...it won't stop until the march 11th :blessed:

Or maybe it has nothing to do with cloverfiled and Bad Robot simply knows how to make trailers and market a movie to maximize buzz.

My biggest question in all of this is why this was premiered before a movie about Benghazi :mindblown:. Do they think this fan base is nearing their 70's and tuned into Fox 24/7?

This isn't really looking like a sequel to Cloverfield its really looks like another movie and they just used the same name to brand it.
This isn't even found footage, and I'm perfectly okay with it :manny:

That's what JJ said basically

“The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.”

My guess? Cloverfield becomes an anthology series of monster movies or Twilight Zone type shyt and this is the 2nd entry. Almost like what they tried to do with Halloween
Pretty neat idea. Trailer gave off a different tone from the first one, and we need more horror anthologies me thinks

:jbhmm: Clearly quality is subjective, but money is not. He's got Star Trek, which was a hit, into darkness, which was a hit, produced cloverfield which was a hit, super 8 which did okay, mission impossible 3 which also did okay and now he's directed what happens to be the biggest movie in the world and the largest movie in north american history

Who builds hype for a movie better than JJ? :wow:

Technically it's idiot nerds on the internet who build hype, all JJ Abrams does is release ambiguous trailers, ambiguous pictures and ambiguous made-up articles, and then sits back and laughs as the internet overreacts to it all and people make themselves believe it must be something special.

Then you find yourself sitting in a theater watching utter gutter crap like Cloverfield and people still tell themselves it must be something special.

Then years later a somewhat intriguing but not all that special trailer to a quasi-sequel (and/or apocalyptic spin-off of The Room) drops, and people still tell themselves it must be something special.

And now you're here, reading this post, and you probably try to tell yourself all of this isn't the case. But it is, because I deducted it from an ambiguous news article on a fake website from a fictional soda pop company that is visible in the background of a movie trailer.
