I loved Cloverfield even after all the hate it got. I was there day 1 for its release and I'll be there for this one
Nah its definitely related to Cloverfield. Look at the poster for the first movie and look at this. Im pretty sure its just a physiological thriller based on the events from the first film. Im pretty sure we'll see a monster/monstersOr maybe it has nothing to do with cloverfiled and Bad Robot simply knows how to make trailers and market a movie to maximize buzz.
I'll be there day one.

It's not a direct sequel. It's in the same universe so think of it as a side story or maybe even an anthology. He said it's not a direct sequel so a lot of cats in here are going to get their hopes up and be disappointed even though he's already said what it is and what it isn't
Can't rain on my parade I'm still hypedTechnically it's idiot nerds on the internet who build hype, all JJ Abrams does is release ambiguous trailers, ambiguous pictures and ambiguous made-up articles, and then sits back and laughs as the internet overreacts to it all and people make themselves believe it must be something special.
Then you find yourself sitting in a theater watching utter gutter crap like Cloverfield and people still tell themselves it must be something special.
Then years later a somewhat intriguing but not all that special trailer to a quasi-sequel (and/or apocalyptic spin-off of The Room) drops, and people still tell themselves it must be something special.
And now you're here, reading this post, and you probably try to tell yourself all of this isn't the case. But it is, because I deducted it from an ambiguous news article on a fake website from a fictional soda pop company that is visible in the background of a movie trailer.
The first movie was so polarizing with how people viewed it. Some people loved it. Some people hated it. I was hype as fukk after the teaser trailer and people hated on it when it came out and I held off from watching it for like a year. Watched it and that shyt was FIRE to me. One of the many instances where I realized not to care about other peoples opinions when I'm interested in something.
Assuming there's only three characters and the film takes place on one set, it's actually not out of the realm of possibility. The budget is only $5M???

A chunk of that went straight to Goodman I'm assumingAssuming there's only three characters and the film takes place on one set, it's actually not out of the realm of possibility.
