John Goodman is a fukking savage. No chill at all:damn:

Once I saw what was in the barrel I went from:ohhh: to :lupe: to :damn: in an instant

And the way he came in after that clean shaven with an ice cream cone had me creeped out more than anything else in the movie :merchant:

Funny thing is growing up I always thought of John Goodman as that guy from the Flinstones movie:pachaha:

Surprise of the year for me. This kind if quality is how you differentiate a cash grab from a growing legitimate franchise. Piff.

Goodman was FANTASTIC. I didn't know he could do this kind of thing. There were so many scenes that were outright disturbing and tense. fukking Santa Claus brehs had me on the edge of my seat.

The end... it wasn't of the same pace as the rest of the movie, and because the focus shifted directly off the characters its easy to feel jolted there. I can forgive it though. Worth my money easily. Great stuff. This isn't the movie to get all petty over because of a title.

The entire movie was really good to me until the end and the ending was easily one of the worst things I've ever seen. She should've just been killed at the end and end it there. John Goodman was fukking amazing.
Whats your final rating breh?

7 or 7.5 out of 10. Could've easily been 8.5-9 if they ended it even halfway decent. I was laughing at the stupidity of the entire ending. Pathetic writing. Everything leading up to the end was really good
I have similar thoughts on the ending. Still loved the experience overall though.

The ending was fukking amazing. Anything else would have been trash. It would have been a little better if she died because that's what would happen or imply she was going to take the L along with the rest of humanity. but it was still the best kind of fukkery and twist.

I can't -dislike- the ending.

It wasn't great, sure. It was different than the entire movie... maybe its bad I can't say more than that. There were a LOT of ways this could've ended, because of that I think the ending we got is taking more hits than it should imo.

I like the pre molotov stuff more than a lot of the original script ending

In the original script, Michelle escapes the shelter and is chased through the farmhouse by Howard, who still wants to “protect” her. She blinds him with bathroom cleaner, he tells her about his tragic life (dead wife, missing daughter, treacherous Nate, etc.), and then she shoots him in the kneecap and runs away. He ends the movie alive, entreating Michelle to “be careful.” Later, after traveling down empty roads and finding no one around to help her, she crests a hill and sees the Chicago skyline, smoldering and destroyed. No explanation is given. We don’t even know what she will do next, only that she now knows that Howard, for all his oddity, was correct. The final line in the script is, “She slowly pulls down the mask on the hazmat suit before taking a breath.”

I don't dislike that either but eh... I'm actually kinda happy with what we got compared to that.
Cheese aside, I liked the left turn to Houston and the ship's silhouette through the lightning. The last thing Howard needed was a sob story. Him getting clean shaven and bringing her ice cream hours after shooting a guy in the face and chopping him up was the perfect closure to his character after everything.
Could things have been more polished? Definitely, but pacing just would've been a massive hurdle no matter what. Being real, everything past a certain point could've been an entire sequel by itself.

Regarding some other stuff... Its not like she suddenly turned into superwoman or anything either. She was crafty throughout the entire movie.
