Outside of Ja being having his contract voided and being completely blackballed, he'll be fine.

Booker is Booker, great scorer not a superstar.

Agreed on Zion.

Trae overall will be fine, the Hawks were gifted (or cursed) a timeline acceleration by Ben Simmons.

Way too early to judge Mobley.

Never heard of Garland being projected as dominant.

Mitchell is a better playoff performer than Booker but their overall profile is the same.

Still early to call Ant but he'll largely be fine.

Melo is overrated on here for being flashy but if he doesn't take after his brother he'll largely be fine.

Rockets need a culture reset.

Outside of Booker and Mitchell for the US and Luka for the World, these foreign players are older than the Americans, they're supposed to be ahead of them.

It’s pretty simple. Over here youngins with talent play AAU which isn’t really the ideal setting for getting pro ready.

Over there youngins with talent literally go pro. Dudes like Luka, Jokic and Wemby been playing against grown men since they were 15.

Then you got another subset of foreign stars like Embiid and Giannis who actually refined their game mainly in the USA but have a different level of hunger and work ethic than your average American prospect, because they literally came from the mud.

So basically American players underperform because we’ve fostered a horrible environment for molding prospects, and American culture of coddling/entitlement often means these dudes just don’t want it enough. A lot of these young American stars are celebrities with hundreds of thousands if not millions of IG followers before they ever played a second of pro ball.
The problem with this is American prospects never played in systems against grown men. The proverbial field that is the non-US world has basically caught up, it's that simple.

Maybe not the best year to make this thread breh... :heh:

Embiid is American too btw.
:snoop:i find myself saying this from thread to thread: my goodness how prisoner of the moment can you be. Giannis has a whole ring already wym?! Like your career accolades start at zero if you don’t win that year

And huh ? Embiid ain’t American :heh:

:childplease: I mean…that’s a way to put it

Booker is Booker, great scorer not a superstar.
If Booker isnt a superstar that supports my point. Why is he just a “great scorer”

Trae overall will be fine, the Hawks were gifted (or cursed) a timeline acceleration by Ben Simmons.

He’s a career 35% shooter from 3. After 5 years. He is not ‘fine’. And “timeline” means nothing in a young man’s league with no defense , and guys like Ja and SGA can propel their young teams. Trae is another supporting point to this thread; why is an alleged top shelf face of American hoops plateauing and not translating to good basketball

Rockets need a culture reset.
Again, that’s a way to put it :childplease:

Outside of Booker and Mitchell for the US and Luka for the World, these foreign players are older than the Americans, they're supposed to be ahead of them.
SGA, Giddey, Wemby are youngins. Best projected future team, best projected future prospect. Murray is the same age as everyone else

The problem with this is American prospects never played in systems against grown men. The proverbial field that is the non-US world has basically caught up, it's that simple.
You just spent an hour saying ‘they’ll be fine’ and there ain’t no problem :wtf:

YEA THE REAL ISSUE IS
THE NBAS GENTRIFICATION....

WEVE SPOKEN ON THIS BEFORE
AROUND HERE...

THEYVE REMOVED THE HOOD KIDS
FROM THE LEAGUE
AND 60% OF ALL CURRENT PLAYERS
ARE RELATED TO A NCAA OR PRO ATHLETE.

ITS A SUBURBAN NEPOTISM LEAGUE
NOW AND THESE KIDS DONT
HAVE THAT DOG.

You realise one of the best, most dominant players of the last decade grew up with a millionaire NBA father and lived a very privileged life as a child don't you? To date he's the only unanimous MVP in the history of the NBA.

Embiid is American too btw.

Gaining citizenship doesn't make him an American. He's still a Cameroonian. Dude never even set foot in the US until he was 16.

I think he means Embiid's basketball upbringing is in America. He played HS, College ball in America.

And he didn't even touch a basketball until he was 15 so how can you not consider him an American hooper :dead:

He isn't an outlier though. These mythical street nikkas with 100% dog in them would be the outliers in this situation. Most of the young guys in the league came from well off backgrounds.

Was Kobe Italian then? :ehh:

Embiid was spotted playing basketball in Cameroon. He just developed his game in America but that doesn't make him American.
