I knew I should have held off on buying Will's book now I have to buy it again with the additional chapters talking about the Oscar win, slap, fallout etc this is why I don't like buying bios/memoirs of people still active in their career :martin:

Hopefully he’s still not planning on the Red Table talk as all it’s going to do is stoke the flames. Should have done the morning talk show route and kept it moving.
I feel like that wheel has already been set in motion but it's the definition of not reading the room. Hate to see it

Thing is though, there are ways to handle things on the spot.

One of the reasons why I'm laughing at the "If it happened at your job, you'd be fired immediately" bullshyt is I've been on both sides of the fence and it hasn't been issued.

If Chris was more alert, he could have dodged Will's slap. Pulled him up close and say no harm was met. This is what I did. After a 1 on 1 talk, we were downing shots.

If the slap connected, he could have just said "Let's speak backstage". Then resolve things there.

Only person who will know whether Chris is a winner or loser is him true say. People have their reasons for why they responded the way they did. Only he will know if he let the matter drop for the sake of the show or because he didn't want another slap.
:dead:

Uh maybe you’re a pro wrestler, a UFC fighter or a rodeo clown or something, but it’s standard American workplace practice that if you slap someone you will be automatically fired and possibly charged. People aren’t going around throwing slaps, and ducking slaps and having a beer afterward in corporate America, fukk outta here.

Said this in a different thread but it is funny that so many people are in the know as to what happens when they proudly admit that they don't deal with colleagues outside of work.

It doesn't matter what profession you work in, people are people. Unless you're disliked, people are not going to push for you to get fired.

Just look at Parliament. Traces of cocaine was found in the building. Many of the MPs flaunted the lockdown rules.

The notion that people in prestigious jobs are on their best behaviour is wrong. They're not. When people step out of line, the tendency is to try and resolve things inhouse.

This is known, but it isn't something the lynch mob you're apart is willing to consider.

It happened to the right black celebrity as almost anyone else outside of Will wouldn’t be as fortunate and we all surely can admit that. Even Whoopi whose as decorated in her career as she is got surpressed for years after the George Bush joke she made until she got The View gig and even then, she’s never reached the level previously she used to be.

Hopefully he’s still not planning on the Red Table talk as all it’s going to do is stoke the flames. Should have done the morning talk show route and kept it moving.

He needs to grease the right palms.

I get wanting to use your own platform to deliver messages, but ultimately it brings out the spite in others. We'll not necessary spite but concept of reciprocity.

You go on different shows, you have sway on the narrative to eat. They're more likely to present things in a soft manner. Pretty sure this is how it always goes down.

Going on the red table sends the message that you're not willing to play ball. Fair enough approach to understand but not exactly shrewd all things considered.

:mjtf:

Are you smoking PCP before you post?

nikka just completely made up a quote from me. :dead:

Thanks for telling me you’re fat though.
Somebody tried to quote u from a response u had to me and wrote that to u but they put it in the quote by mistake rather than outside of it so I thought u wrote that to me. My fault. And no I’m definitely not fat.

That's a lot to ask of a man after he's slapped. Not punched...SLAPPED.

And, considering Chris Rock's Non Learning Verbal Disorder; it makes it even more to ask.

I get it, though.

But, it short;

Will was the nikka in Belly that Tommy(DMX) embarrassed in front of everybody.

Chris Rock was Sincere(Nas)

"You'll get yours, b."

Meanwhile, Tommy is too elusive or too big to challenge so that dude waits and sees Sincere. Ready to start dumping on the wrong nikka.

shyt is 'Sgust.:francis:

Hype is that you bro? It has to be you. Because you’d be the only one still talking about Belly in 2022.

Come back Bro. The music video game needs you. These kids and their DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras fukking it all up.

Nah he straight up minimized the boycott. He minimized who she was in Hollywood and as an actress. And he got roaring applause and damn near standing ovation for it. He had the whole Hollywood laughing at Jada. And I can’t stand that bytch but that shyt he pulled in 2016 was some shuck and jiving disrespectful shyt.

The boycott was public news and she was front and center around it.

Jamie Foxx even checked Will for not having a good performance.

Rock made light of the situation and Jada is a B list celebrity on a good day. She has always been.

You can't even negate what he said because the context was accurate and she opened herself up to that scrutiny.

Disrespect would be him actually listing what movies she is known for and ask "why is she talking":mjlol:

Its actually the opposite. You go on someone else’s platform you don’t control ANY part of the narrative. They can edit and present it the way they want which could be negative.

Biggest example is Michael Jackson’s “all access” interview with Martin Bashir. Martin and the producers told Michael that the special would portray him and his family positively. Instead it portrayed him as a damn maniac. Even when Michael’s team released THEIR OWN behind the scenes footage that showed Bashir was full of shyt and basically kissing Michael’s ass the whole time, telling him he was a “wonderful father” and all that shyt the damage had already been done.

If you are black and have your OWN platform then utilize it as often as you can. Going on GMA, CNN, Fox or wherever leaves you vulnerable to how that platform will ultimately convey your words and message.

Facts and they dont even have to play the whole interview.

They can released 5 mins of a 45 min interview and come up with some bullshyt why they did that

I totally agree with your premise, but they’ve been doing a terrible job for years now of conveying their own words and messages through their own platform.

It’s the exact reason why they’re in the situation now as they’ve been putting all their business out in the open for entertainment and giving people ammunition to go after them.

It’s hurt their image more than it’s helped it.

I don't disagree with what you're saying. I think the point that I am trying to stress is that it is a dirty game.

Take the Phoenix Order as an example. *The fukking ads on this site irritate me when it shifts the alignment*. The book was leaked and The Sun got a copy. They graciously offered to return the book on the condition that Rowling take photographs with them.

It is a dirty game built around establishing mutually beneficial relationships. Going the red table route gives them full control of the narrative, but it also cuts out people with influence from being able to eat from the story; they might be persuaded to put a positive spin on the story if they're given certain assurances on future interviews and what not.

All true, you don't want to go on a show where they fukk you over, but I can't see a Red Table talk helping I'll based on past content.

Will probably needs someone like Oprah to help in this instance.
