the structure of marriage and divorce court makes this so
once the guy is married, the woman gains access to half his assets and many men follow the happy wife happy life moniker because they don't want their wives waking up one day saying
they're unhappy and raping them in court
once you sign the papers, you raise the stakes of the relationship in the woman's favor
