This the convo we are having now
Your calling minorities cacs when you white. Stop
*edit* just received your neg where you called me a gaylord. Your def a cac
Yeah I'll be honest there's mad posters in here who are hurt by this thread
After slim shady the biggest rapper in the universe said big Ls name he blew up sometin CRAZY
Mind you L was known but when was he on the Source cover?
He wasnt.
In 1998 we had a cover with all the new up and comers who some would later be known as g.o.a.ts (dmx, camron, canibus, pun)
Where was L?
Nggaz overlooked him like they overlooked d.i.t.c. which was disrespectful but it is what it is
Bein underrated is part of the game
Let me ask yall this
Howcan any of yall prove this at all
Why isnt reggie in the goat sphere if eminem named him the goat. But just naming big L got people putting him in a top 10?
I just dont see any correlation whatsoever.
I agree what most the people in here said, big Ls legend started after his death and was established by the hip hop community from the source to gangstarrs full clip shout out in 99-00-01.
By 2003 file sharing blewup and his freestyle with the now GOAT level jay z helped, his song with big and pac, being associated with cam, mase, etc all had way more to do with L being popular than eminem.
Again i dont know a soul who heard of big L through eminem and i am white so i know the type of people whi actually would listen to eminem... its just does not hold water to me.
I remember big L being in plenty of peoples top 10s circa 99-00-01 once he initially became popular with people who werent really hip hip fans. The same people with guys like 50 dmx and em in their top 10s.
I just need to see some type of proof that eminem caused this because ZERO has been given and a buncha people making assumptions because of the timing..
I dont see it. I need proof. Theres none you couod give me. This is some conspiracy theory level shyt
And im not disagreeing with you persay, but like what ya saying bout up and comers in 98 (L dropped his album in 95 mind you ...), how does that correlate to eminem is the one who made him popular.
Im sure you remember the coverage the source gave him after his death, it was a lot for a generally unknown artist atm.
Maybe i need to ask people younger than me cuz my age group knew of big L well before 50 cents album or 50 cent period.
I just dont see em being this influential because half of his fans werent really hip hop fans like that anyway and ONLy like em.
