...and Square already announced the sequel to Octopath, when the first game isnt even announced for PS consoles yet.

Forspoken is coming out on PS5 and PC. Not exactly "locked down to Playstation". They just doing the same thing Xbox is by paying to not put it on their direct competitor's platform.

Why are you waiting for Forspoken (and FF7R ) to come to Xbox if you have a PS5?

Same thing with the exclusive COD "content" on PS5, if you really want those EXP + BP tokens and goofy samurai skin you can always cop MW2 for your PS5.

I mean you aren’t an Xbox owner and as far as I know aren’t into Activision games like Call of Duty. Why do you even care about this? Would likely have negligible to zero impact on you.

Because i still want regulators to do their jobs, if they don’t do it now they won’t do it the next time Microsoft tries to buy a company i actually care about

Destiny 2 is a terrible comparison to be honest. None of these companies are willing to risk public backlash removing a game from competing hardware after people already paid money and supported the game on that platform. Same reason microsoft wouldn't cancel the ps4 port of phycronauts 2, it would be a public disaster trying to explain that to the people who raised millions through gofundme to get the game developed.

The real question is if Sony would allow the next bungie game to be released multiplat.

You're not seeing anything changing in terms of parity when it comes to the upcoming expansions (or any content in general) for Destiny 2. The expansions for Destiny 2 have effectively been sequels to the story. However I'm sure they're aware of any bad PR they would get if they did break parity in release or content.

And Sony and Bungie said off rip that they're staying multiplatform when the acquisition was announced. I'm pretty sure they don't roll up under PS Studios, and this is probably a similar affair to something like SIE.

Brazil already laid it out. The regulators job was to protect competition for Brazilian consumers not to protect the interest of a particular competitor.

Regulators doing their jobs would look at this and go this move takes the company arguably in the weakest position in this space between the big 3 and makes them more competitive. It's a net plus for consumers if it increases competition. Approved.
