That's life though, and partly what makes Sopranos the GOAT.

And I gotta disagree with the brehs @Whips-n-Chains and @Ari Gold Bawse . It does absolutely play a part in the decision making and life of Dr. Melfi, it's even brought up in some of her personal scenes.

It's just not spelled out for us because she doesn't involve Tony (not really a spoiler since you asked..) and because we don't spend THAT much time with her.

Remember - she was thinking of dropping Tone as a cliënt when S3 started..

A lot of the storylines that people consider "dropped" absolutely inform character motivations/development that take place after, it just doesntget spelled out or addressed directly - because that's life and as Chase said, "this is a show about people constantly lying to each other and pretending, kind of like life".

We're used to TV shyt like Breaking Bad where the most minor shyt gets wrapped up nicely and explicitly somewhere for us to see, The Sopranos is not that :yeshrug:

100% agree with the bolded, I was going to post that piece about it’s just like life.

You right about melfi, and that rape was important to show she’d never cross that ethical line with Tony ever….if she were going to ever do it, she’d have done it then, but she stood her ground.

My point was more that while that plot line doesn’t evolve ins to a whole fully fleshed out plot that last several episodes or a season, it still is very important for the audience to understand in developing her character.

his heart was chasing that other world throughout the series, but in the end he chose damnation instead of what he truly cared about.
Reminds me irl about how many ppl actual chase their dreams/passions and instead work a job they don’t really like, just to live and get by.

But at the end of the day, Chris himself said “I’m a soldier”

I could never get the Italian with English subtitles for Gomorrah on HBO max. Stupid a fukking show
You have to go in and change the settings…sometimes every single damn episode on HBO max.

You have to change audio to Italian and subtitles to enter. Very annoying why the app doesn’t have it automatic, or doesn’t remember the preference.

Don't have the subscription anymore, but on the app for me, I never had the option to switch the language. I was using an iPhone 10 at the time.

Was considering just buying the dvds on Amazon since I keep hearing good things about the show

100% it's worth buying....I'll probably rewatch it again, or at least the first couple seasons, next month. It's nothing like any American shows...nothing like Sopranos at all...no humor at all, very little love scenes or none-crime related stuff. Much darker, much more violence. The music is fire af. The story is full of backstabbing, triple crossing, and any character can get it at any time.

Based on true events too:

^^^great article

I do not, but I probably should in case HBO Max starts taxing.

I’ve heard on the Blu-ray there’s the director commentary, where different writers/directors/cast give commentary thru each episode. That would make it worthwhile too

You have it the dvds?

Dope. Yeah I bought the DVDs awhile ago. I'm waiting until I move out of my mom's house to actually start watching them.

Speaking of hbomax I don't have it but am definitely considering getting it. Do you think it is worth it?

Yea def worth it…I’m a big HBO fan going back to the 90s, I try to catch any new series, miniseries, documentaries, news, etc that they offer. Max is dope bc it has all the series in full to stream any time, all the new stuff is available as soon as it’s airing live,

It doesn’t have the amount of content than Netflix, but i don’t care About ozark, stranger things, etc. whereas I always rewatch the The Sopranos, the wire, random movies, etc.

I’d suggest finding a homies login (that’s what my cheap ass does for every streaming service) or splitting it with a few homies.

You probably haven’t even seen Euphoria or We Own This City, succession, all newer piff
