I hate that. I like it when stuff that's made to be a huge point in the story have a payoff at some point.

Watching s4e2 right now, and this conversation between Tony and Sil in the basement is intense.

Tony really got nobody he can truly trust. Which makes sense, considering they're all criminals.
Usually those side characters only serve to build out the main characters, drive the story or the main characters. Such as Meadows soccer coach was there just to show that Tony was proud of himself for not taking revenge on the guy, stumbling around drunk in his living room. A normal person wouldn't find it as laughably suprising that they didn't seek some sort of violent street justice on the guy.

Davey's purpose was to show Tony's shark like mentality, he knew Davey would get buried in debt to them and he'd end up busting out his business.

But yea...massive genius storyline and D-Girl were pretty pointless and probably the weakest episodes of S1 & S2

Wait a minute, brehs wait a minute.:mjlol:

I never google actors or characters when I'm watching an old series cause of spoilers. But I can't believe it took me this long to realize it...

The Ralphie actor is Cypher from The Matrix :pachaha:

Wait this dude is really trying to put a hit on Ralph for calling his wife fat? :what: :mjlol:

I always hated Ralph but y'all know how I feel about fat women. I'm on Ralph's side this time

his characters talk and tone reminded me of Ralphie, I wonder if this was the movie that got David Chase to cast him in The Sopranos?

Johnny Sac:Right, that's rich, did you hear what my "friend" said about my wife? Made a crack about Ginny's weight, something about her having a ninety pound mole on her ass?:birdman:

Tony:Well....that's deplorable. Who told you this?:aicmon:

Johnny Sac: What's important is that it was said:beli:

Tony : If he did say it, I didn't hear it because he knows better to make a remark like that when I'm around:ufdup:

Tony is such a liar, not only was he there when the joke was said, he slapped Ralph on the back at the dinner and laughed saying, "Aye thats a mans wife!:mjlol:"

I'm on the part where Johnny Sac is talking to Carmine

Carmine: it's an off color remark, highly inappropriate. ill tax him good. 200k.

Johnny Sac: 200k for insulting my wife, what's next you get to fukk her for a million? :damn:

Carmine: he wants to fukk her? :skip:

Carmine's lack of giving a shyt is one of my favorite moments of season 4. just wait till the end of the episode, you'll see more of Carmine not caring about it:laff:

Well the D-Girl storyline was to show that Chris could have a spot in Hollywood (even if it was small & stereotypical) but ultimately he was and will always been seen as a gangster. It's reiterated more blatantly with the Law & Order writer.

his heart was chasing that other world throughout the series, but in the end he chose damnation instead of what he truly cared about.

That's life though, and partly what makes Sopranos the GOAT.

And I gotta disagree with the brehs @Whips-n-Chains and @Ari Gold Bawse . It does absolutely play a part in the decision making and life of Dr. Melfi, it's even brought up in some of her personal scenes.

It's just not spelled out for us because she doesn't involve Tony (not really a spoiler since you asked..) and because we don't spend THAT much time with her.

Remember - she was thinking of dropping Tone as a cliënt when S3 started..

A lot of the storylines that people consider "dropped" absolutely inform character motivations/development that take place after, it just doesntget spelled out or addressed directly - because that's life and as Chase said, "this is a show about people constantly lying to each other and pretending, kind of like life".

We're used to TV shyt like Breaking Bad where the most minor shyt gets wrapped up nicely and explicitly somewhere for us to see, The Sopranos is not that :yeshrug:
