Like that scene with Chris and Adriana at some fast food place in the hood and Chris says some racial shyt and everybody just stands there when in real life he would have got his ass beat.

They were about to beat his ass until somebody pointed out that he was affiliated.

I was wondering what scene y’all were talking about and found it...y’all got some good ass memories lol

This show loved to portray black folks as either clowns or punching bags who keep taking Ls.

The Sopranos was white boy fantasy where black folks was concerned. Like that scene with Chris and Adriana at some fast food place in the hood and Chris says some racial shyt and everybody just stands there when in real life he would have got his ass beat. :stopitslime:

I think David Chase had some :mjpls: tendencies that you could only see through his work. Like when Meadow brought home a half-black guy and Tony ends up having a panic attack from looking at Uncle Ben's rice. :mjlol:

Or that scene where Tony and A.J. are in a crack-ridden neighborhood and Tony talks about how the people who live in the neighborhood now destroyed all the hard work that was put into it. Then A.J. calls a black woman that walks up to their car a crack whore and they just leave the black people standing there like :umad:.

That's why I like New Jack City, Godfather of Harlem and even A Bronx Tale. nikkas don't just get handed easy Ls by scrawny looking eyetalians and stand there looking stuck on stupid, we fight back.

David Chase is definitely on some :mjpls: shyt.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
liked the character but he had one of the dopest death scenes in the show

Is there any explanation why they always leave the gun. I get it from godfather, but was this actually a real life thing? Murder dudes and leave the pistols right there. It seems like every official hit that happened, that was the plan. Like it’s mob rules or some smart way to get away with crime

I think it's because they can't be traced back to them. When the junkie guy speaks to the Italians he makes sure to tell them "they're clean." Dumbest thing they could do is hang on to it afterwards

I'm #civilianlife so maybe one of thecoli resident goons could speak on it

I mean these guys are doing dirt in public with no masks on so anything is in play :dead:. Dumbo Tony almost went away for bevilaqua bc he had no disguise

I honestly can’t remember...there was a time when I was really into mob lore/history and read several books about actual hitmen and such but I can’t recall this subject being touched upon...ultimately the belief is the sooner you get rid of it the absolute better

It doesn’t make sense to me that NY made peace with Tony. They were all but gutted so there really was no reason for Butch to sit down with them. What were they afraid of at that point? Tony was in hiding. They gave Tony the ok to kill Phil, the argument that they would’ve hit him simply because they killed Phil in front of his wife is far fetched.

I think Butch was frustrated with Phil trying to rule the family while he was in hiding, and maybe becoming too power crazy as boss. Phil was annoyed with Butch and wanted a sitdown because they weren’t able to kill Tony. And maybe Butch figured he could rule with Phil out the picture.

I don’t know, it seemed kind of rushed to me. I would understand it more if they made more of a point to show that they were hurting financially at the time. But they didn’t show that, they actually said NY was taking over some of NJ’s business
