I always loved how the biggest "idiot" of The Sopranos turned out to be the biggest winner. Very allegorical.

This was not realistic to me at all. No way a lone black guy in a construction crew is going to speak up and intervene and threaten to call the cops when some cacs have a verbal dispute. We have more awareness than that

The crew had lost some of their biggest earners even before the war with New York. p*ssy, Ralphie, Gigi, Vito, Chris, to a lesser extent Eugene. Plus Furio was gone.
After the war they've lost Bobby, Sil is on life support and probably not waking up

+his pops put in work which means a lot to the mob. Tony, Chris, Jackie Jr and I'm sure more have all gotten passes because of their blood. Didn't they say that the only reason Feech didn’t clip Tony for sticking up his card game was because Richie Aprile stood up for them, on the count of Jackie being his brother and the respect Rich/everyone had for Tony's father and Uncle (Syl got saved by affiliation).
We see Bobby pushing people during Jr's trial. He also stands up to Paulie and Chris a few times in the later seasons. He started out as a punk in Tony's vicinity but he wasn't an overall punk, he was just on the losing side of the Jersey civil war.
It doesn’t make sense to me that NY made peace with Tony. They were all but gutted so there really was no reason for Butch to sit down with them. What were they afraid of at that point? Tony was in hiding. They gave Tony the ok to kill Phil, the argument that they would’ve hit him simply because they killed Phil in front of his wife is far fetched.

And then he closes out the episode in one of the most mundane, boring un-cinematic endings of the entire series....just to drive the point home that he would've blown Gloria's thrillseeking ass the fukk away, clock out and go about his mundane routine like any other worker........
