The Attitude era was a big time and did things greater than the 80s period but clearly people we're not as invested into wrestling to sit down and watch wrestling collectively to pull numbers like that. There's not 33 Million Wrestling fans from all the wrestling territories combined in 1988
And Wrestling was not even Big at that time to all of a sudden to have 33 Million people to give a fukk about wrestling when they was barely selling out arenas
33 Million came from the phenomena of Hulkamania, this wasn't invested in wrestling, they was invested in this Man named Hulk Hogan beating Giant's like Andre the Giant, Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy.
The majority of those 33 Million were not wrestling fans, that's what you call Pop Culture when regulars wanted to see about what they hear on the news and radio, this Hulkamania

Dwayne is billed and promoted by either/or so saying Rock isn't huge but Dwayne is, is not true. Its just a name. And is anyone really rating him highly in films to even be overrated? I always thought the general consensus was that He's an action star with alot of charisma. He's following that Arnold blueprint really. Arnold had some cheesy stuff under his belt. Lol at the Surban Commando thing. That was Tooth Fairy bad. Rock has already shown range outside of action. And hes got some sleepers. Moana, central intelligance etc. but I do agree with you on his movie choices. I wouldn't say he's not making a good career for himself though because he is. Dude is just out there having fun and making bank.
Hogan set the standard but guys like Austin and Rock were able to take alot of what he set and extend it and reach further. Strictly wrestling, most will say Hogan is number one and that's cool. But its not a crime when speaking in terms of overall factors that Hogan may not be the number one guy.
