Umm I think the duplicate got killed everytime, because if not that would take away from the end of the movie where they were just flat out open with each other. Duplicate wouldn't know the history.
The Borden twins took turns, so they indeed received the prestige. Albert told Angier when Angier discovered they were twins and asked him who went in and who went out.
But you was right about Angier never knowing. Hell, it was a duplicate that Borden killed anyway.
We both had half of a full life, which was somehow enough for us. But not for them.Yes, I felt bad for her too, notice she hung herself around the caged birds. Nolan's symbolism was crazy in this one.

but the Borden twins never got the prestige for their trick. it was always the other.
Elaborate what you mean. They took turns doing the trick.

Can't you see? He's pulling the wool over your eyes, it's all part of the plan. It's a film about magicians in the 1900's for gods sake, there was no cloning back then.

I am not going to repeat this anymore .... cloning is not the same as duplicates... its hard to comprehend but they are 2 different things .... I think people are getting caught up because Tesla was a real person and inventor .. If the guys name was Jones then I bet people would grasp the machine works
What I mean is .. the magician performing the trick doesn't get the applause. If i'm the one doing the trick I deserve the recognition not my brother who is in hiding.... it subtle but it ties in with the whole prestige theme
In the end I believe nobody got the prestige ....
Bruh, did you not see the troll face? I was fukking around. And actually I agree with the thought of the clone/duplicate having the same memory up to the point of creation
That's why I said they both took turns. one does the trick and the other get the applause. The next night the other does the trick and the other gets the applause.
And in the end "Borden" got the prestige with the reappearance to his daughter and giving her back the red ball.
My bad... this is the innanet ... and I dont know what half those smiley faces mean anyway ... if it aint the typical happy, sad, crying or confused face .. i'm lost...
And I had another thought while driving to work this morning ... Think of the machine as a fax machine for humans but the "original" gets destroyed
I agree with what you're saying but I was just saying that Borden A isnt gettting the applause for Borden A he's getting it for Borden B... They agreed to do it that way so it all good for the Bordens .. but if ego was a thing one might have a problem with it ... maybe ... Thats why i said it was subtle because yes the Bordens are getting the reward... if i'm not mistaken only one Borden was really the magician the other just agreed to go along
*Borden crushes birdcage*
Kid:You killed him!
Borden: It's magic. See, hes fine *pulls other bird from his sleeve*
Kid: But where's his brother?
