So, I was looking into Dying Light. Apparently there are some issues with the launch (surprise, surprise). May want to hold off for a bit on purchasing it.

apparently the view distance bottlenecks the cpu

http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/dying-light-graphics-and-performance-guide

The addition of extra detail does of course increase load on the GPU, but in testing we found the largest limiting factor to be the CPU. Usage of Core 1 will typically be pegged at 100% in Dying Light, but as the View Distance setting is raised GPU usage plummets, as does the framerate. Testing at other resolutions further confirms these results, with performance varying by only a few frames per second.

Resetting our i7-2600K clock speed from 4.8GHz to 3.4GHz saw performance decrease considerably, definitively proving the existence of the CPU bottleneck:

For some reason EVGA Precision X doesn't work with Dying Light

It also doesn't work with Battlefield 3 and 4 neither

Wanted to see what them fps was looking like, but it felt smooth

:manny:
it doesn't work with 64 bit games. the real afterburner works though (evga precision is just a custom version of afterburner), or you can use fraps

Is this build okay? My budget is $1000.

id drop the SSD , use that money to get a better processor and then later on get a SSD. SSDs are important, but not at the cost of the processor.

that computer with a better processor + a 970 GTX should do very well

Im looking into purchasing a gaming desktop off of Amazon or New Egg within the next few weeks,or im willing to build one if it turns out to be a cheaper/better option. And when i say cheaper i mean better value. I dont wanna go over $1500 if possible. This thread is too long so if yall got page numbers or links lemme know.
